Check out all the Jets fans who thought Gaffney was crap before this afternoon advocating to sign him because he would be an upgrade to their receiving corp.

Jets Insider.com Forums

heard that on EEI as I was out doing the work thing today...I knew immediately that Hype Hype and the rest of the brain cell challenged green nitwits would go all atwitter like the little green Petunias and Penelopes they so desperately try to hide, behind their "OG OG OG JSTE!!!!" facade of bravado. THIS is who they are...this is just more of the "Coles!!...no,Santana Moss!!...no,Coles!!!...Moss!!!...Coles!!!" insanity that the Rage Rage types blindly cling to....the Jets are a joke...and their fans are an eternal punchline.

To Rah!Rah!'s credit, he still seems to stick to the Gaffney sucks mantra. Of course if the Jets sign him, he will immediately become better than any Patriots WR other than Welker. Of course this would make sense since the Pats cut Gaffney because Belichick was concerned that he would hurt Lloyd's and Branch's feelings because he is much better than them.

Exactly, Rob...just like he did when the Rats picked Sanchez.."I'm beginning to like this pick!!" as soon as the Jets made the choice...same with Gholston "Rex will make him allpro!!!!"..as soon as he's cut.."that little b!tch"....he's certifiable, SG is even nuttier and there's about twenty sub 70 IQ regular trogs that show a complete lack of understanding when it comes to the NFL...it's a one of a kind Green World....I'm beginning to think it's another planet.

SG3 is banned from gangreen. Pretty sad to get banned from your favorite teams forum.

The best part about that is he takes pride in the ban!

Both he and Rah!Rah! are banned from that site and get banned all the time from Jets Insider, but they rarely perma-ban posters there (usually a few days or week ban).

Of course that is what makes Jets Insider more fun than thegangreen. They let the nutjobs run free at JI.

Filed to ESPN: #Jets close to finalizing deal for Rams RT Jason Smith, league sources. RT Wayne Hunter part of deal. Smith, No. 2 pick '09.

Rah!Rah! is naturally one of the only Jets fans so far to like this move with regards to getting Smith, the rest just seem to be glad that Hunter is going.

Smith is Jeff Otah in a different wrapper. Both good players when healthy, but are never healthy. Granted Otah is a much, much better player than Smith when healthy. Rah!Rah! thought the Otah trade was a great trade. Why wouldn't he think this one wasn't?

A lot of people (both Jets & Rams fans) are saying they're both as bad as each other, the only difference is the Jets will be paying Smith more money to suck to the same level as Hunter.

Seen a Tweet saying it's a straight swap too, no picks involved.

I can't get over to read JI. My computer protection program is currently treating that site as if it's infected.

Maybe I have a higher opinion of Smith than I should. I thought he played well in 2010 Maybe I am wrong. Don't watch many Rams' games.

Change of scenery swap of busts. We did that once with NO. Neither one panned out.

Most mediots are saying the same thing.

Posted in the thread about the trade as well, but it also mentions how bad the Jets suck too:

Evan Silva:
Jason Smith trade is humorous. #Jets are gonna need to get a GM who knows something about football. No chance he's actually seen Smith play.

Jets SB champs now that hunter is gone...

I watched the entire game....or well most of it. I can't believe how Jet fans would be so happy.

Sanchez - Unless he is throwing in rhythm and on time, he is in trouble. He rarely throws a ball past his 2nd read and less than 10 yds past the LOS. Its like Sparano has set him up at the NFL offensive kids' table. He can only throw slants, dump offs, short outs and his favorite seam pattern off of play action. Teams are going to figure that out. So completing "77% of his passes isn't going to mean much (even if his receivers catch them) if when you add them together, they don't add up to a first down.

Also, while the pick wasn't his fault, no on is mentioning the 2 that were flat dropped.

Hill - I'd love to have that kind of prospect on the Pats....but not starting. That kid is really raw. He's scary, but no close to reliable.

OL- I have to laugh. Its like they have solved all their OL because Austin wasn't horrible. I mean, the Pats give up 4 sacks in 3 games and we are pulling out hair out. The Jets STILL had 3 sacks in one game.....and declared it a VICTIORY! :D

Think about this as well - This is an OL with supposedly 3 all pros and geared to run the ball. Well guess what? They CAN'T run the ball. Again, we had people ready to jump ship because in the Philly game we didn't average over 5ypc like we did the other two. The Jets can't average 4ypc in one game.

The Defense - Well.....that looked pretty good.l But I do have to admit that it wasn't vanilla. They threw everything at the Panthers. The came and they came a lot....and did it pretty well. Granted, Carolina didn't have any real receivers to challenge them, and I think Newton is going to have a tougher year than most expect; the Jet defense could win them some games....if they stay healthy

It's just the preseason.

Didn't the Lions destroy the Patriots 34-10 in the 3rd preseason game last season? I think the Patriot season was pretty successful last year. Maybe you didn't get the ultimate prize, but you were one of the last two standing.

Look, here is what I think. Defenses have the advantage in preseason for primarily two reasons:

  1. Defenses are usually ahead of offenses this early in an NFL season as far as schemes, player development, and knowing each others roles.
  2. Defenses don't have to think as much in the preseason. When the regular season rolls around, they have to think about offensive schemes, reciever alignments, funky formations, and the like. Therefore, they play a step (or two) slower because that's what happens when you make a defensive player think.

The point is this: Offenses are NEVER as bad as they look in the preseason and defenses aren't often as good as they look in the preseason.

So let's not overreact here.

And Yes, this is something I had to tell myself after becoming overly concerned with the Jets offense.

Here's something else to tell yourself...The Pats destroyed Sparano and HIS wildcat last season...the Pats humiliated and surgically removed Tebow's package and crammed it down his throat last season...now YOU want us to believe that this "SUPERSECRET!!!!!" collaboration of Sparano/Tebow is suddenly going to spell doom for the Patriots???

Tell me exactly how this is going to occur...what...you planning on winning by making the Patriots player break out into fits of uncontrollable laughter every play?
