Wouldn't mind Brewster with this last pick in the 7th. Was originally mocked as a 1st rounder pre-season.

BTW.. If I was the Saints, I'd draft Kellen Moore here in the last round. Talk about a very similar player to Drew Brees..

Provided Dennard doesn't get lengthy jail time, this is a major steal of
PHP:
a draft pick. I don't think he was a real trouble maker, he just did a really stupid thing at the worst possible time in his life. Other than that, you never heard of any problems around here in the media.

3rd degree felony assault of a police officer. Struck the officer in the head,
5 years 10,000 fine is the max.

Well, if he has to serve the maximum, he will still be younger as a rookie than Cleveland's new rookie QB

I'm sure being a Nebraska football player he'll get off with a light sentence in Lincon, you know wink, wink.........

Love the Dennard pick. Obviously has some major character issues but they got him for next to nothing. Take a shot on a very talented player and let him go if he gives you any problems.

Belichick should draft Mel Kiper just to mess with these guys. I imagine McShay analysis would be funny as hell.

BB and Andy Reid....

BB drafts Kiper and trades him for posthmus rights to Buschbaum

With the 235th pick in the draft, the New England Patriots choose......Bernard Madoff, Offensive Person, Hofstra University.

I'm generally against punching cops in the face, but sometimes it works out for the best.

If it is an one-time mistake, yes.

Everyone has one big mistake in their system. The trick is to get it out while you're in college.

Damn it, I lost the signal. Did BB just draft the cable guy?

Rams draft Jenkins in round 2
Pats draft Dennard in round 7

who is smarter.....BB or that weasel from TN now in StL

I wonder if 5 rounds of dropping qualifies for a Chip on Your Shoulder

We'll find out in 10 years when ESPN produces a special called "The Dennard 14".

Let's do some math.

Talentwise, I'd call Dennard around a solid 40th overall pick. That's 500 points on the value chart. Even if there's a 75% chance that he never suits up as a Patriot, it's still a terrific roll of the dice in round 7.

WOW...they describe Vonte as a LIFE SUCKER...

At the end of day one, we had just two picks and most of us were happy with that. If those two picks were turned into Jake Bequette and Alfonso Dennard, i'd call that a good draft. And that's exactly where we are.

Reiss tweeted that "When Bill Belichick spoke at Nebraska football clinic in March, he personally worked out Alfonzo Dennard on that trip."
