Gut feeling at this moment, who do you want with #27 and #31

The way some people in this forum are complaining it seems like we just came off a losing season. They all sound like a broken record complaining about not taking a first round pass rusher. I'm sick of it. Just for that I would laugh if we traded back/picked an offensive player. Pass rush isn't even our greatest need, safety is. It doesn't matter if you give the QB a narrow window to throw if the guys are already open he will dump it off.

Did you watch the Indianapolis game? KC? ..or any of the other games where QB's off the street put up 300+ yards passing? How about the Super bowl when the defense couldn't get off the field?? ...And that was with Andre Carter (mostly) and Mark Anderson.

Kendall Wright at 27 (they worked him out earlier this week)
Trade back from 31, my guess is for an early-mid 2nd and a 2013 2nd

Hopeful Prediction: Steve Smith without the drama. One of the funnest college players to watch this year imo. People can say RG3 made him and I call B S every time.

Even after all the WR signings, my gut still feels that Stephen Hill will be special in the NFL.
Stephen Hill is the most overrated wide receiver prospect in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Screams Bethel Johnson. I'd love to take a chance on him in the 3rd, but I'd quite lose my lunch if he is a Pats first rounder. I also like Tommy Streeter, just not in the first or 2nd.

I'll take Greg Childs or Marvin Jones or Ryan Broyles between #93 and #126.

#27 DL Devon Still or LB/DE Vinny Curry

#31 FS Harrison Smith

Marvin Jones would great, I like Jarius Wright in the 5th and Jeremy Ebert in the 6th or 7th. I'm sure BB will manufacture one or two late rounders somehow.

Yeah, like I said, the main need is Safety. Even with two 10 sack DE's the pass defense sucked.

#27 - Chandler Jones DE Syracuse
#31 - Donta Hightower LB Alabama

Both bring versatility, strong work ethic, and leadership (more so Hightower on that one) - all things the Patriots favor in their draft picks.

#27 Shea McClellin
#31 trade back- The way I see the draft lining up w/ tiers, I'd like to stay within pick 38. Pick- Reyes, though I wouldn't be be unhappy with Still, or Harrison.

I want Shea McClellin and Kendall Wright

Shea would probably start if he shows something in TC while Wright might be held back since the team has deep depth at WR......but both players would be awesome additions.

#27 Lavonte David, Kendall Wright or Doug Martin

#31 Trade

I will be very disappointed if we draft Nick Perry, Kendall Reyes or Harrison Smith in the first round though as a loyal Pats fan, naturally I would give them a chance. They are NOT first round quality though.

Why do people think Wright will drop? Wasn't he considered atleast top 20?

Some question marks over whether he can legitimately play on the outside (slot receivers don't normally go first round. Receivers of his height rarely go in the first round. and there are some question marks over his conditioning - 8% body fat, which in conjunction with his slower than expected 40 calls into question his work ethic.

Heh..body fat? Slow 40? Seems to me like he is a victim of the BS draft process. On film he looks by far the fastest guy on the field.

Completely agree. I think he'd be hard for BB to pass on @27 as he's an ideal fit for our offense.

What I want to happen and what will happen are two different things.

I'm not in love with the talent that will be there at the end of the first round, especially on the defensive side of the ball. I want a trade up for Barron or Brockers which would fill one of our two biggest needs, but I can't see Bill giving up both 1st rounders.

Therefore I want to trade down with both 1st rounders and pick up 4 solid 2nd round talents - Lavonte David, Vinny Curry, Trumaine Johnson, Kendall Reyes.

What do I think Bill will do? I think he will definitely trade one of the picks and then pick someone with the other that most of us think is a slight reach but ends up being a good player. Perhaps one of those above.
