Is WELKER Traded before the season starts?

Every WR that's played for the Patriots in the Brady era has seen his production tank as soon as he left. While this is true, it's not like it's specific to Welker, and considering how well he played when Cassel was our QB, I think he'd still do pretty well.

I think Cassel and KC is the one way this could result in a trade, could not that I'm saying it will. Pioli is kind of in a win now situation as is Romeo. There's a comfort level with all three on the KC side and Wes

KC
11 -1700
75 - 370
Total - 2070

31 - 800
Welker

Difference of 1270 which equals out to about the 18th pick. I think that's a deal both teams could live with especially if a player like Cox or Ingram falls to 11.

I realize Wes would have to sign the tag for this to happen before the draft but if KC had a deal in place he could literally sign it tomorrow night and KC is much closer to home for him.

Again not that it will happen but it's the one scenario I see where it could.

The system that we have on offense plays a huge part in Welker's success. He's a good player, but the system makes him an even better player. Brady makes him a great player. Take him out of our system and have someone else throw him the ball, he's not going to be putting up the same numbers.

Wes says, “Everything’s fine, except for this crazy Brazilian lady saying these things about me.”

Remove the word "wide" from the sentence highlighted and I will agree with you.

So, let me ask you a question. If at the start of a game, the Pats put out Lloyd split wide on the right, and Stallworth split wide on the left, with Welker in the slot.....officially Lloyd and Stallworth would be the wide receivers on the play and must be on the line of scrimmage.... so what would Welker be on that play no matter where he was positioned, as long as he was off of the line of scrimmage and inside of the two wideouts? What is Welker?

A team can only have two players on the field at the same time designated as "wide receiver" and on the line of scrimmage.

Now, on occasion, one of those wide outs can take a step back and another eligible player, can move into position on the line of scrimmage, as long as they are outside of the five linemen....Now who are the wide receivers?

I await your answers.

You are delusional.

This is just like your, "Kyle Arrington isn't a cornerback" argument, NEM.

He can't be NEM

1. No massive, repetitive cut n' paste posts

2. No mystery phone calls in the middle of the night revealing insider info

3. No death threats to posters criticizing him

Welker would be deadly in that Arizona offence alongside Larry Fitzgerald. I wonder what they're willing to give up? They do have a pick in the sweet spot of the draft that we could use... Hmmmm

*ducks tomatoes*

I do not believe that Welker would be deadly, as you put it, in any offense that does not have Tom Brady and the offensive philosophy of the Patriots.

With what the Cardinals have for quarterbacks, he wouldn't have more than 30-40 receptions for the season, if even that many. The Arizona offense is a joke.

You are joking, right? There are people here who make death threats if someone disagrees with them?

does it count if I threaten suicide when someone has a different opinion than me?

Just when I think you are ready for Guiness under stupidest posts, you top yourself.

You forgot the most important clue. He hasn't ripped the play calling in the last 5 minutes.

He has no trade value. So no, he won't be traded.

Right, who would want the guy who just had the 19th most receiving yards of anyone in a season in NFL history. I mean, afterall, he fell an entire yard short of Jerry Rices 2nd best year of his career. Who would want him?

Your first 20 have been an epic fail. Hopefully your posting improves and we can find some trade value for you.

You're telling me Wes Welker wouldn't put up big numbers with Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning or Drew Brees throwing him the ball given their systems?

These boards make me laugh at times. They truly do.

Mostly a looker but had to chime in here.

It's quite sad really to all the people bashing Wes...the guy played out his whole contract with us the past few seasons at a discount without once complaining. He was a top 5 WR in the NFL and you can easily say "where would Brady be without him" as you can say "where would he be without Brady". Now is his last shot at a payday and long term security at an age where decline usually comes and he EASILY deserves it. Only a complete idiot would think he doesn't deserve a long term payday or that what he's doing is wrong.

Of course with Lloyd coming in, as well as Stallworth + Gonzalez, Ocho having a full offseason and our 2 TE's becoming a bigger and bigger part of our offense each year, our offense won't rely on him as much as year's past. But that DOESN'T mean he is not worth top 5 WR money and/or wouldn't perform elsewhere.

...or someone who's worried about the long-term cap room of the team. How many more years do you think he'll be an elite WR?

Welker is over playing this thing! BIG TIME! You're not an Elite wr! Period! Really? Miami let you go for a 3rd cause you were so damn scary?! Peace out and move on!
Just because you do a depends diaper commercial with big names doesn't make you entitled.
The simple thought that so many here wash this guys balls in their mouths makes me sick! He's a decent SLOT receiver...that is it,and certainly isn't worth 10 mill.
Big time in small games.... all but gone when it comes time to seal the big one.
Takes alot of nerve to demand the money this guy is, who also virtually cost us a SB!

My theory is that it's really Gisele using several diverse screen names.
Just a thought.

Given the Patriots have tendered the franchise designation at 9.5 million, your opinion is null and void in regards to Welker's worth.

Please, do tell us all what Welker's monetary demands have been.
