Is opening day for once going to be an epic game on primetime (SF, Den, Bal, etc) or a non-primetime/primetime game vs. a weak opponent? (2011-Dolphins, 2010-Bengals, 2009-Bills, 2008-Chiefs, 2007-Jets)

point taken, but the Bengals were coming off a division win (which is worth something being in the same division as the Steelers and Ravens)

Here's my guess:

SUN SEP 09 IND 4:15
SUN SEP 16 @ BUF 4:15
SUN SEP 23 @ JAC 1:00
SUN SEP 30 SF 8:20

just a guess.. that is all...

I have a feeling it will be home against Buffalo in the opener....and end the season in Buffalo....

One of the Jets games will be a sweep week.

I liked it when we played in Jersey week 2 (2010/2009/2008/2006). I wish the schedule would have some games like that.

It's amazing that a league can turn a schedule release into "must see" TV.

the reason why I put NYJ in week 17 was because we've played miami and buffalo the last 2 finales and we haven't played a late December game against gang green in a while

Re: 2012 NFL Schedule to be released Tuesday 4/17/12 @ 7PM

I would be very surprised if the week one game is a 'big' game (e.g., vs the Ravens, Broncos, 49ers or Jets). In the past few years other than the initial Thursday night game featuring the defending champs there are rarely compelling matchups in any of the other week one games. The reason is simple: at that point fan interest is extremely high, as football fans get to see real games for the first time in seven months.
The NFL spreads out their marquee games over the course of the season. So there will be a couple marquee games week 1, we just don't know if the Patriots will be one such game. I have a feeling they give Denver the late night ESPN game.

From the Patriots twitter account, they just revealed they start the year on the road and end the regular season at home. So for the opener it's either a divisional game, or they're playing @ Baltimore, Tennessee, Seattle, Jacksonville or St. Louis.

Also, Pats are currently slotted for 4 primetime games in 2012.

I'm betting @ Buffalo; opening at Baltimore, can't say I'd like that.

Both of those are the same as last year. Except NE only ended up with 3 primetime games last year because Colts/Pats was flexed out. That probably won't happen this year.

Here's my guess:

SUN SEP 09 IND 4:15
SUN SEP 16 @ BUF 4:15
SUN SEP 23 @ JAC 1:00
SUN SEP 30 SF 8:20
SUN OCT 07 MIA 1:00
SUN OCT 14 @ TEN 1:00
SUN OCT 21 NYJ 4:15
SUN OCT 28 @ STL 1:00 (LONDON)

MON DEC 03 HOU 8:30

SUN DEC 16 @ BAL 8:20
SUN DEC 23 BUF 1:00
SUN DEC 30 @ NYJ 1:00

Can't have an AFC/AFC game at 4:15 in week 1. CBS has the rights to the US Open men's final that day.

totally forgot about that rule for week 1...we'll probably wind up playing at miami or jacksonville...the league won't have us in a big game the first week

My guess

1 9/10/12 vs Houston MNF
2 9/16/12 at Miami CBS 1PM
3 9/23/12 vs NYJ CBS 4:15
4 9/30/12 at Baltimore SNF
5 10/7/12 at Buffalo CBS-National 4:15
6 10/14/12 vs Arizona Fox 1PM
7 10/21/12 vs Colts CBS 1PM
8 10/28/12 at St. Louis London, CBS 1PM
9 11/4/12 BYE
10 11/11/12 vs Denver SNF
11 11/18/12 vs Miami CBS 4:15
12 11/22/12 at Tennessee Thanksgiving Night
13 12/2/12 vs San Fran Fox-National 4:15
14 12/9/12 at Jacksonville CBS 1PM
15 12/16/12 at Seattle CBS 4PM (not part of dh)
16 12/23/12 vs Buffalo CBS 4:15 (could be flexed)
17 12/30/12 at NYJ CBS-All week 17 games subject to time flex.

Given the new pieces of info, here's my revised prediction

SUN SEP 09 @ MIA 1:00
SUN SEP 16 HOU 4:15
SUN SEP 23 @ JAC 1:00
SUN SEP 30 SF 8:20
SUN OCT 07 @ BUF 4:15
SUN OCT 14 IND 1:00
SUN OCT 21 NYJ 4:15
SUN OCT 28 @ STL 1:00 (LONDON)
WEEK 9 BYE WEEK
SUN NOV 11 ARZ 4:15
MON NOV 19 @ NYJ 8:30
SUN NOV 25 DEN 8:20
SUN DEC 02 @ TEN 1:00
SUN DEC 09 @ SEA 4:05
SUN DEC 16 BUF 1:00
SUN DEC 23 @ BAL 8:20
SUN DEC 30 MIA 1:00

I'm hoping @Seattle is early in the season, before it get's too cold, rainy and miserable. I'd prefer to be able to go to a game and not have to worry about getting drenched this time!

the reason why I put NYJ in week 17 was because we've played miami and buffalo the last 2 finales and we haven't played a late December game against gang green in a while

If you take that nugget with the fact teams usually play their backups in the last week, we very well may see Tebow starting that game
