BJGE Signs with Bengals.

Just went on a Bengals forum to see what they thought, couple posters said they heard the contract on local news saying it was 3 years 15 million.

If that's true that's pretty high and I can see why we didn't resign him.

I just finished reading the Saints penalty thread & misread the title of this one as BJE signing with the saints & thought "No Benny, you deserve better"

I hope he did get 3 for 15, hard worker, good guy, NEVER putting the ball on the ground, even in college I believe.

Good luck Benny

Really sorry to see him go....and thanks to him for being a great patriot and always running hard. But, I am happy for him that he got a good longer term deal and is going to a team that will really appreciate him and his talents. Best of luck BJGE....and I am sure BB knows best...hopefully Ridley is ready and they are working with him to hold onto ball!

All the best, he did it the right way, with hard work and discipline. I'd like to get a power back of some sort.

Good luck to BJGE. Class act.

Good Luck to BJGE, He was a guy who was a long shot and worked his butt off and was a ream guy. I wish we could have kept him, hope he got a big contract with the Bengals.

Re: BJGE to Sign with Bengals.

One of my favorite Patriots of the past few years, I wish him nothing but the best and will be rooting for him.... now I am cautiously looking forward to the Ridley/Vereen era....

Re: BJGE to Sign with Bengals.

so... are we going with 3y/$15M as of now? That's the only thing i've read so far. Obvious why we didn't pay that kind of $$.

Re: BJGE to Sign with Bengals.

this had to be about money and why do i get the feeling that bjge leaving is going to come back and bite the pats in the axx?

It just par for the course that the pats will lose an important game because a rb coughed the ball up at the worst possible time. Then, well all be saying "law firm wouldnt have done that."

kraft is cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your contributions Law Firm.
But I can't wait to see what Ridley can do with a full season under his belt. Will also be interesting to see how Vereen fits in and if he can take over 3rd down back role from our ever versatile Woodhead.

I wish him nothing but the best....a class act and a solid player.....Thanks for your efforts BJGEf!

Re: BJGE to Sign with Bengals.

Would be the worst trade of the BB era.

I'm glad that BJGE has attained the level of success that he has, and I wish him all the best.

That said, I am excited to see what Ridley and Vereen can do
.

Spot on. BJGE was a Patriot type player. I'm glad he isn't going to the Jets and wish him the best. He was an unheralded player who worked hard and took advantage of the opportunity. His 'no fumble' skill was a nice edge for him/the Patriots. Unfortunately I just don't think he had enough to maximize the yards available on his carry opportunities.....I suspect that is one possible reason why BB let him go without a fight.
It was disappointing to see Ridley with those fumbles at the end of the season. Otherwise he showed some serious promise. As much as I like and respect BJGE, Ridley showed the kind of promise that BJGE just didn't appear to have. This is why I am excited to see what Ridley will do with increased carries. I'm also excited to see Vereen have some opportunities. If his college career is an indicator of what he can do in the Pros, Patriot fans have a lot to look forward to from the running game. Let's hope increased fumbling isn't one of those things....

Good luck Benny, thank you for your contributions. I would have loved to see him stay, but RB's can't pass up opportunities when they have such a short shelf life. Can't blame the guy for taking the money.

Best of luck to BJGE. That said, we drafted 2 guys back to back in the 3rd with much higher upside, and it's time to give them a shot. Assuming Faulk is gone, we need a 4th RB anyway through the draft or FA, but Ridley and Vereen's time has come. I'm perfectly fine with taking the gamble, and kind of excited with potential new playmakers in the backfield.

Two thoughts.

1) I'm really going to be pulling for Law Firm to be a big success in Cincy. Good luck to him!

2) He was the most important part of our running game in an SB season (41% of attempts, 38% of yards, 60% of TD's and NO FUMBLES). Ridley and the rest of Plan B had better work out.

Good luck Benny. This team will miss you greatly after they lose an important game because of a RB fumble.

Class act, tries hard, solid player, dependable, a guy you wanted to root for.

That said, if I had to lose a starter on offense, he would be the guy I would pick to lose. Running back may now be the least important position on the offense. Plus, the Pats have Ridley and possibly Vereen to fill the void.

Definitely true and has been for the past several championship-less years.
