I thought we might as well have one thread listing all the franchised players.

DeSean Jackson has the honor of getting tagged first:

On the 11th day, the first franchise tag rested. On the shoulders of No. 10.

The Eagles announced on Thursday afternoon the placement of their franchise tender on receiver DeSean Jackson.

Good job, D.I. This will be very helpful as the franchise tags start pouring in over the next few day. Thanks.

Yikes. If Goldson gets tagged, then upgrading at safety will be difficult.

this is why (even tho i do it constantly) it's to hard to do mock drafts before FA. Branch and goldson hit the market maybe you don't value barron as high. Branch and goldson get tagged and it changes the landscape at safety big time.

Atlanta has tagged CB Brent Grimes. Titans are reportedly tagging CB Cortland Finnegan. Lions are still negotiating with Cliff Avril but will tag him on Monday if no deal. SF expecting to do same with Goldson.

I don't like Finnegan, but his likely absence from the open market should drive the price of Carr up. Bummer.

Grimes being tagged by Atlanta means Curtis Lofton will probably hit free agency. He's a 4-3 MLB so the Pats are not likely to have any interest, but another team going after him perhaps opens the door for another player the Pats would prefer, with that much less competition elsewhere. Sort of a domino effect to the chess match of free agency, with everyone having only X amount of money to spend.

Ravens apply franchise tag to RB Ray Rice

Baltimore Ravens | Ravens Assign Franchise Tag To Rice

Ray Rice said over and over that he didn’t plan on leaving Baltimore this offseason.

Now, it appears that plan will come true.

The Ravens applied the franchise tag to Rice on Friday, which will keep him from becoming an unrestricted free agent and pay him about $7.7 million as part of the one-year deal. His four-year rookie contract was set to expire in March.

“As we have in the past, placing the franchise designation on a player allows us to keep negotiating on a long-term contract,” Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome said. “Our goal is to keep Ray Rice a Raven. We’ve done this with other outstanding players through our history, including Haloti Ngata a year ago.”

Next one off the FA list, Arizona franchise Calais Campbell.

Breer: Cardinals have placed franchise tag on DL Calais Campbell.

A note for those of us looking at safeties....

Davis getting tagged means Landry's likely to be available.

Crap. I really would've liked for us to have had a shot at him... though really, it was probably never going to happen.

LaRon Landry responds to critics, says he weighs 223 - DC Sports Bog - The Washington Post

Somehow I doubt Landry is going to help us much when it comes to coverage woes.

Today's expected to be busy with the tags, and I've got to be somewhere where I'll be without computer access for a couple of hours. If someone else could keep this going with any updates, I'd appreciate it.

Cardinals tagging Calais Campbell is not surprising, but it probably makes it a little more difficult for any team wanting to sign Mario Williams.
