I know this may be a stretch, but what about going after Mario Williams?

Thanks for the information, but does anybody think the texans are just going to let him walk and not get anything for him? I loved to have the guy, I'm sure they'll try to sign him but if they can't i just can't see Huston letting him walk.

Unless they throw money at one of them before the start of FA then they can franchise the other... If not, either he walks or Arian Foster walks, I think they need Foster at this point more than Williams...

I think BB will at least have to take a look . . .

That said, my gut sense is that we make our biggest free agency splash in the deeper WR market, and we lean more heavily on the draft to address defense.

Arian is an RFA. If they don't franchise him hopefully some team like in need a of a running back snatches him up to make them pay but there's no guarantee.

To any of the people who think we need secondary help more than a pass rusher are crazy. Having a guy who can constantly bring heat to the qb is the secondaries best friend. Williams in free agency, wr, safety and cb in the draft and were laughing

You could put Mario Williams at cornerback and he would still be better than most of the guys that played there this season.

This move could happen but you have to sacrifice most fan's favourite receiver in Welker...you can't really have both....and with Gronk needing his contract restructuring soon and Hernandez seeking a new deal by free agency next season it's impossible to have both.

Not only that, if he wants to be the highest paid at his position then he's got no chance of landing here. We almost have to hope he's willing to settle for a little less to wind up on a team capable of making the Super Bowl.

The Jags and Buccs are the most likely suitors with a lot of cap room free....but I think Mario may take less then the highest paid at his position with a shot at a ring. I could never understand why a player might take 3 or 4 million more to play at a team that sucks. I'd take a little less if I could still get enough for a shot at a ring.

Hernandez is on a 4yr deal, 2 of which he's completed.

I thought it was 3 for some reason...my brain fart! But he is going to need resigning in the near future which I guess has to be taken into consideration when you're potentially signing someone up long term. He won't be cheap either if he keeps it up.

Honestly, I think there is very little chance we keep two elite tight ends with elite money. Gronkowski will be asking for record breaking tightend salary levels...rightfully so...so that's where that money will go.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think it's time someone put their foot down....We are not going to get Mario Williams, nor will we get Brandon Lloyd or Reggie Wayne for that matter....It just is not in the DNA of our front office/coaching staff to make such moves. We're going to use our draft picks on players that will piss all of us off and then they will turn out to be pretty damn good players, just like always.....

We could find a way to add Williams and keep Welker. It means the roster is completed with re signing our own guys and the draft but I'd take that tradeoff. We have top end talent all over the offensive side of the ball (OT, OG, TE, QB, WR) and only 1-2 guys on the defensive side who would be considered top end, depending on your opinion of Mayo. Its no mystery why the D isn't as good as the O. Williams balance the scales a little bit. Then draft 2 WRs, 2 DBs and and 2 front seven players.

I hope we don't get williams to a long term deal..because that will mean (most likely we can't keep both gronk and hernandez) Screw that..i want them both over williams

like chad jackson?

Isn't the salary cap going up to like 160 million in 2014? That's like 40 million extra right there.

I'd rather earmark that money for Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez than Mario Williams.

No, we will definitely get a legit WR. Williams is unlikely as is Wayne, but I'd be shocked if we didn't get either Lloyd or Colston.
