Tom Brady lost the game

The throw to Branch was a poor throw well behind him, if he led Branch he would have gone at least another 15 yards.

Brady had a poor game. Bad decision on the Safety, The int was a ball that should not have been thrown (like the ball to Slater last week) Then he made poor throws to Welker and Branch when they were wide open.

Do you think Brady blames himself for the loss due to his poor play? I do.

Yes. Brady is a stand up guy, we saw that after the Ravens game. My guess is he accepts responsibility.

That was entirely a team loss. I think in some small way that makes it bearable, may be the only reason I didn't break my tv.

Still to lose to that inbred looking punk again, that will never, ever go away. Obviously the regular season means nothing. Hate average teams winning a championship. People can say all they want "well look at the 2001 Patriots", like the recent win by Greenbay, that team WENT ON THE FOLLOWING YEAR TO PROVE DOMINANT. 2008 Giants slipped back into mediocrity again, as this 2011 Giants team will.

Brady thew a very catchable pass to Welker which was dropped. At the end of the day and, not surprisingly the defense could not hold. See, you can spin this anyway you like.

So that one drop lost the entire game? What about the INT? What about the lack of points scored in the 4th? All on Welker or someone else, I suppose...

You know. Ive always been his biggest fan like anyone else. And I know that Welker dropped a game winning catch. But in fairness that was a terrible throw.

Brady lost the game when he spotted the Giants 9 points on his first throw of the game, and 3 more with ANOTHER ill advise throw.

Not saying he played terribly but seriously lets take off our homer eyes and can anyone here find another player who did more to hurt the team than him?

Forget the fumbles that didnt go our way its a moot point. It doesnt change what Brady DIDNT do.

So go cry about it.

braDY had the game won, and that int and the last drive lost the game...

We don't play to win in the 4th quarter anymore. We play to not lose, we lack leadership and poise. We could have blown them out starting the second half, but we got lost in our playing calling, and wasted possessions, and let the Giants chip away.

Just sad.
With all due respect, and I understand, like the rest of us, you're really upset about losing this game, but your comments are, at best, idiotic, and, at worst, moronic.

37 minutes to 23 minutes. That's the time of possession for each team, Im sure everyone knows who is who. Our defense could not get the ball back to the offense and the offense couldn't do much when they had the ball. OK, 2 decent drives but it takes a lot more to win a football game. Bend, don't break is a feel good term for a pretty crappy defense. Going for 20 yards when you need 3 usually ends badly. Tonight ended very badly.

tom brady didn't lose the game...god dam ******* morons

Elisha has 3 wideouts who can beat you deep (and do) -- Brady has none.

It made all the difference in the world.

Would it matter? Brady can't exactly throw the deep ball

That throw to Welker wasn't perfect because it turned Welker around. That ball was HIGH and didn't hit Welker in stride. That being said, Welker still should have held on to it since he did get BOTH hands on it.

But don't forget about Deion and Hernandez. They both had key drops and Brady DID hit them in stride.

He absolutely did not hit Branch in stride on that play...

I vote this thread for most moronic of the season.

I am not blaming Welker I am simply pointing out that Brady did not flat out cost the team the game the the OP said. You can look at every play and say "That is the one that costs the pats the game." How about the fact the the defense could not stop the giants from scoring almost ever time they had the ball? Plenty of blame to go around. Championship teams find a way to win and the pats lost to better team yet again.

Name me the last big game Brady needed a score or a drive to seal the game and got it?

You can't huh? It's been quite some time... Last time I remember was 07... but we left too much time on the clock and Eli beat us, since then, Brady has not been able to seal a game in the 4th in close big games.

A pro wideout absolutely makes that catch. Wes Welker is a tiny, tiny man and target relative to most WR's in the NFL. If you are asking Tom Brady to hit 1 foot by one foot targets twenty yards down the field, you are asking too much. That was a very, very catchable ball that professional receivers catch. It's hard to be disappointed in Wes because he plays balls out, but man, I am disappointed. A gamer makes that catch and wins the Superbowl.

That being said, the armor of Tom Brady is officially rust. Post season magic of his early years just isn't there anymore when you felt like he just wouldn't let them lose. It's been awhile(Denver doesn't count) since we've seen the guy really win us a game when it mattered. He's still an amazing QB, but it's a different version. He played ridiculous on two drives today, but otherwise seemed rattled and just not crisp.

We do need to get the guy some wideouts. The draft whiffs of the Taylor Price's, Brandon Tate's, etc. aren't helping his cause.

A lot of truth in this post. Brady is still very, very good, but he is not the magic man he was before the injury. This team can easily fill its huge holes at outside WR and safety in the offseason.

Brady played great. He was going to run away with the MVP if Welker held onto the ball. Plain and simple. I don't blame anyone for the loss. The Pats had multiple opportunities to put the game away. Even with the time of possession being so lopsided which shocked me. They just didn't make enough positive plays when they needed to. Plain and simple. They had multiple opportunities too.

This game was the truest representation you can find of:

You win as a team, you lose as a team

Yup!! Brady tried to throw away the Raven in EXACTLY the same fashion but an inept Raven QB and kicker got in the way.
Brady threw an ill advised pick on the Pats next to last possession and they got the ball back with 6 minutes left with 2 pt lead on their last possession and could not put the game away (this is when I left the party - I KNEW we were done) and had to punt.
CARBON COPY of the Raven game only with a championship team in the Giants receiving the ball back.

If Bill Belichick believes Ryan Mallett is the real deal then it's time for Ryan Mallett to see some action.
We have Peyton Brady here in New England and the same issues and questions with this aging and injured QB.
Tom Brady hasn't played a strong 60 minutes in the playoffs since '04.
Not interested in pretty regular season QB numbers.
We need a QB who can move in the pocket and NUT IT UP when it matters.
And that ain't Tom Brady.
