Tom Brady lost the game

So who should they replace him with? When the home crowd turns on a player, he might as well leave or be put out to pasture.

Take a step back people, and realize that he's been under center in 5 super bowls in the last 10 years.

There are teams that haven't even been in 5 playoff games over that span.

2004 10 char.

We don't play to win in the 4th quarter anymore. We play to not lose, we lack leadership and poise. We could have blown them out starting the second half, but we got lost in our playing calling, and wasted possessions, and let the Giants chip away.

Just sad.

So it's Tom Brady's fault the Giants managed to keep 3! fumbles, or his receivers forgot how to catch the ball when it mattered?

Anyone who blames Brady is a moron.

Brady deserves as much blame for this loss as anyone else on the roster. The safety and INT were both inexcusable decisions.

No one thinks of that after losing to a 9-7 Giants team, this is one of the strangest games I have seen, they gave up, they had it and gave up.

You guys are an embarrassment., The Patriots made it to the SB, they played a close game, they lost. Stop trying to act like entitled morons and accept they played and came up short.

This.

Did Colts fans turn on Peyton Manning after he threw away a SB with a pick-6?

Brady deserves some of the blame as do multiple players as well as the whole team. You are a blind homer if you don't see that. After the WW drop (a pass which was catchable but still not a great pass), Branch was there for the most critical third down play of the game and Brady badly threw it behind him. Then, after the Patriots got the ball with 57 seconds to go, Brady again threw the ball badly behind a very open Branch. That pass was going to go to about the 45 or 50 yard line too - and using the timeout then would have put the Patriots at about the 50 with 50 seconds to play.

Brady played well for a good chunk of the game. His last of the half and opening third quarter drives were superb. But in the gut wrenching clutch, he did not make the plays he had to (as several others didn't). I have no idea why he doesn't get a share of the blame for that....

Brady did nothing against the ravens and now the giants.
Face it; its not the old Brady we are seeing.
Defense did their job!

To say he did nothing is ridiculous. He set a SB record for most completions in a row for eff sakes.

Brady may not have played perfect, but you can't pin the loss on him.

This just isn’t a championship team. Contrary to the opinion of some, I never felt confident this D would make a big stop when it mattered most (same as the year before, and the year before that, and the …). But the Patriots offense is mostly to blame. On 3 occasions they had the ball in the 2nd half and could have put the Pats up by 2 scores, and they failed. Worse yet, they keep the ball for 6 mins in the fourth quarter and score zero (0) points, giving it back to the Giants with 3:34. Just enough time for Eli to embarrass our Defense, which the world has ridiculed, once again. They should have gone for it on 4-11 from the NYG 44 – there was no way this defense was going to hold. Offenses fault because they are the stronger unit, they had multiple opportunities to make sure this game didn’t come down to a defensive stop & they **** the bit.

You know. Ive always been his biggest fan like anyone else. And I know that Welker dropped a game winning catch. But in fairness that was a terrible throw.

Brady lost the game when he spotted the Giants 9 points on his first throw of the game, and 3 more with ANOTHER ill advise throw.

Not saying he played terribly but seriously lets take off our homer eyes and can anyone here find another player who did more to hurt the team than him?

Forget the fumbles that didnt go our way its a moot point. It doesnt change what Brady DIDNT do.
Brady didn't lose the game, he set two SB records. The Giants were more prepared, they just played better crisper football. I also saw a lot of dropped balls out there tonight.

That throw to Welker wasn't perfect because it turned Welker around. That ball was HIGH and didn't hit Welker in stride. That being said, Welker still should have held on to it since he did get BOTH hands on it.

But don't forget about Deion and Hernandez. They both had key drops and Brady DID hit them in stride.

The throw to Branch was a poor throw well behind him, if he led Branch he would have gone at least another 15 yards.

Brady had a poor game. Bad decision on the Safety, The int was a ball that should not have been thrown (like the ball to Slater last week) Then he made poor throws to Welker and Branch when they were wide open.

Do you think Brady blames himself for the loss due to his poor play? I do.

Patriots should be so lucky as to be Able to get rid of Brady. Draft, Matt Flynn, Hoyer or Mallet would all be acceptable. Putting Hoyer in for the transitional period would be best and then the pats can decide if Mallet can be the guy. Or if the scouts are sure on Flynn, make a go at him. But the team has to move on from Brady if it wants to get better. Staying with Brady would be the equivalent of the team becoming terminal and dying a slow death.

Congratulations.

It's only February 5, and we already have one of the finalists for dumbest post of the year. :bricks:

You know what, put a sock in it gas bag. You haven't been right about anything since 2004.

A pro wideout absolutely makes that catch. Wes Welker is a tiny, tiny man and target relative to most WR's in the NFL. If you are asking Tom Brady to hit 1 foot by one foot targets twenty yards down the field, you are asking too much. That was a very, very catchable ball that professional receivers catch. It's hard to be disappointed in Wes because he plays balls out, but man, I am disappointed. A gamer makes that catch and wins the Superbowl.

That being said, the armor of Tom Brady is officially rust. Post season magic of his early years just isn't there anymore when you felt like he just wouldn't let them lose. It's been awhile(Denver doesn't count) since we've seen the guy really win us a game when it mattered. He's still an amazing QB, but it's a different version. He played ridiculous on two drives today, but otherwise seemed rattled and just not crisp.

We do need to get the guy some wideouts. The draft whiffs of the Taylor Price's, Brandon Tate's, etc. aren't helping his cause.

You are an idiot

This.

But one play doesn't lose the game. A complete 4th Q chokejob by Brady vs. one pick-6 by Peyton. Hmmm......

Brady didn't make the plays that they needed him to. He simply choked. Better luck next year.

Brady thew a very catchable pass to Welker which was dropped. At the end of the day and, not surprisingly the defense could not hold. See, you can spin this anyway you like.

I entirely agree. There will be severe overreactions but it will subside fairly quickly. In the big picture this season was a great season......
