Gronk "The Final Decision To Play Or Not Is MY call"

I always remember the story of David Givens and how the coaches worked him out so hard before the Carolina game that the game itself was easy. This was to ensure he would be able to make it the entire game and be able to tough it out no matter. Perhaps they have zero doubt about Gronk's toughness or maybe it's because he means so much more to this team than Givens did that team but I find it hard to believe anybody other than BB has final say.

They need other players besides Gronk to step up and make plays. It wouldnt shock me to see man coverage from the giants on the patriots wrs.Welker and Branch.

Gronk want play!

Gronk want MVP!

Gronk grow new ankle later! ... after Gronk party!

If they go single man coverage on Welker, he's getting the MVP award...about 125 and 2 TD's.

He is playing. That's all there is to say, that's all there will be to say. How effective he plays will be found out by all (including Rob) on Sunday night.

I want to see Gronk spike the ball as much as anyone here. But, I think Hernandez will be the key to getting into the red zone. I look for Hernandez to have 7-9 receptions for 60-100 yards and maybe a TD.

I think the key to Gronk having a big game is going to be how he fares early in the game.

If he struggles to get open and make plays early on then then maybe he sits out the second half, but if he gets open and does some damage to the Giants secondary immediately, then that thing called ADRENALIN kicks in and he likely won't feel pain the whole game until the clock shows 0:00.

I think we have all been through those stages when your body hurts like hell in the early parts of your first ball game with friends in the spring after you have spent the whole winter without excess excercise but once you get into the game midway you don't feel anything but adrenalin.

Why do I think Belichick talks to Gronk on game days the same way Gene Hackman spoke to Jon Favreau in the Replacement>

Belichick: Gronk, I need the ball.
Gronk: You need the ball.
Belichick: I need you to get me the ball.
Gronk: I'm going to get you the ball.
Belichick: Are you gonna get me the ball!
Gronk: I wanna get you the ball!
Belichick (to Bill O'Brien after Gronk runs into the game): I hope he doesn't kill someone.

After Gronk gets the TD.

Belichick: You got me the ball.
Gronk: I got you the ball.
Belichick: You got me the ball.
Gronk: I got you the ball.
Belichick: You got me the ball.
Gronk: I got you the ball.
Belichick: Go sit down now, Gronk.
Gronk: Okay

Obviously he's going to play.

Latest on Gronkowski, per Christopher Price:

Stop the presses...Gronk has returned to practice. Listed as limited.

Ladanian Tomlinson would elect not to.

Being a NY Jet player automatically means you won't have to worry about electing to play in a Super Bowl
.....you won't get there to have to worry about it :snob:

This Gronk situation is killing me - is he gonna play or not? And at what level?

IMO A hurting Gronk will have 60 Yards receiving and 1 touchdown

A Gronk that does not feel the pain of the sprain is good for 100 Yards receiving and 3 TDs

Man, for the love of God, I hope you're right. We need him out there.

Don't know what the heck I will do if we lose this game. These Giants fans have become truly unbearable.

I know how you feel man but remember this when you watch this game.....

There are 15 AFC Teams who wish HARD AND LONG that they were in a spot to have a 50% chance to win the World Championship of Professional Football by winning ONE game.

...the Patriots are fortunate to have that very odds, the other 15 AFC teams have 0% chance.

Thats true but honestly if we lose, if, its worse than not even playing in the ship.

Losing twice to the Giants - under the B and B era - is a black stain.

I hope he can play well, and for the whole game. Maybe a TO like performance? Only with a W to go with it :)
