Ah, I'm envious. I really thought about making the trip...against all odds, I actually have an aunt-in-law in Indianapolis. But I'm the only one in the family who would actually enjoy the game, and I can't quite see going alone.

The more I think about it, this is one place where it's tough being a female football fan. It's weirder to go to a big game alone, and the guys I know who do go to games never think to invite me, because they'd find THAT weird.
You should go.

Its not like youd be there alone because you could hook up with folks on this board. Meet them in person.

Patchick, although I could not offer you a room, my husband and I would certainly be happy to hang out with you before and after the game, and I am sure there are lots of other Pats fans who would feel the same - so come on down!

Ah, you're all very kind, but I'm not really sweating over it! I'll be going to a Superbowl party with a big screen and some loud friends...maybe I'll ask for a long security checkline to complete the experience. :)

Have a great time at the game!

I went downtown today and worked at the NFL Experience. had a blast and then got to partake in the activities when I was done. wasn't able to get near the Super Bowl trophy but its on the agenda for tomorrow. I did see the Super Bowl rings and game balls. I was surprised to see lots of Patriots fans there today. most people I think were locals though trying to check it all out before the out of towers arrive. the NFL shop inside the experience was cool but SO expensive. t shirts we're $45! If you are coming, shop at the Lids store instead. Lots of the same items and much cheaper! I bought so much today! it was cool to see so much Patriots stuff in Indy! I had to get a Tom Brady Super Bowl jersey. Also wanted a Super Bowl tanker but one that JUST had the Patriots on it, no Giants!

I will say I almost puked when I saw someone wearing an "Indy for Eli" shirt. I can't believe that someone made these! Barf!

Going back tomorrow for more volunteering and then more photo ops. I am hoping there are less people. on Friday they had 15k, today 50k! It's only going to get worse next weekend so trying to get all that I want to do done these next few days.

I was just in Patriots HEAVEN today and it's only going to get better as more Pats fans get here!

Patchik I am still hoping to go to the game and if I do it will be by myself! I don't mind though at all because I know there will be other Pats fans to hang with.

Hoping tickets come down some in price...

From West Newton?
Did you go to Newton North?
I graduated in 83'

No, that's not what it was like at all. It was always a debate which was better and Brady got as much backing as Peyton. It was kind of hard to overlook Brady's three superbowl rings, two SB MVP's, etc.

Uh...obviously you never read any Indy Colt fan boards..it was EXACTLY as I say it was. Sure, among US there was always spirited debate...intelligent pro and con arguments...THAT is not who I'm talking about or what THEIR "argument" was. For the Bart Muleyys and Indy Colt1's of the net, their goo gee gaa gaa Pay-Me-Tons was the superest in all history...and their reprehensible homophobic slurs aimed at Tom Brady were well documented for years on the net.Now they can eat a bag of fleshy inter-legs appendages.

Confirmation that America needs to become a socialist nation. :bricks:

Or that both buyers and sellers are dictating the price...

Not sure if anyone has said this, but a good idea is to fly into Chicago and stay there. You can drive up to Indy the day of the SB and save a lot of $$ by staying in Chicago where the prices aren't jacked up. Drive is about 3.5 hours

Is there any update on moving the party at spencers in Indy from Thursday to Friday? Since many of us are probably arriving Friday? Can someone from the Indy pats club comment?

I just emailed Fred Kirsch to see if Friday worked for them. If it does we'll change it. I'm following this thread closely and will keep folks posted.

I'm hearing of a big Patriots party at Average Joes in Broad Ripple. I guess it's the same people who have done them at past Super Bowls.

I'm in no way affiliated with it, but it sounds cool. Just wanted to share.

It sounds like this will be the official Patriots party, but don't hold me to that.

there's the WEEI "party" at Buca DiZeppo or Luca diPeppo or whatever the name of the joint is...why the local sports affiliate chose an "Eyetalion" restaurant in a city with FFA and 4H Club demographics is a real puzzle...here's this wingnut "Urtalyun" joint...Buca di Beppo...sounds like a Marx Brothers movie...

hey, they got "NEW!!!!" pasta dishes...like "penne ala vodka" and "shrimp florentine", described as "shrimp sauteed in garlic tossed with linguine, diced tomatoes and spinach in a "butter" sauce"....what, no toasted Wonder Bread on the side? Cripes, with new dishes like these, I shudder to think what the "favorites" are...spugeddi and meat patties? Here's a real beauty...Italian Broccoli Romano...

now this looks like steamed broccoli with grated cheese on it....any self respecting person of Italian descent knows that "Italian broccoli" is rabe...look at THIS delicious looking dish from a REAL Italian restaurant....

so EEI thought THIS was the place to drop anchor in Indy?....I know what this joint is...it's a Sbarro from the mall...with a 1980's type menu....jeezus,Pete Shepard would have croaked if they made him go here...

So today at the NFL Experience as a volunteer I got to stand next to the Lombardi trophy for three hours while people came up to take pictures. The trophy here is THE trophy they will be giving on Sunday. It was pretty cool!

If you are coming to Indy and the NFL experience, make sure you come early and visit the trophy first. it's probably the most popular attraction and the wait ca get to be an hour and a half!

every person who is a member here needs to save that .jpg on their hard drive...priceless

Any Pats parties on Saturday night in Indy?

FWIW my friend in Indy told me that beers in the NFL experience tents are pricey ($7?) as expected but you're allowed to walk around with beers around the downtown area...so basically you can carry a 30 pack around with you all day/night if you really want to save money.

Can those in the area confirm/expand on that?

He also said that the talent in the Red Garter strip club by the stadium has been appropriately upgraded for SB week. :rocker:

Yes they are selling beer around Super Bowl village and you can walk around with it. They are $7. Day of the game they will be $11.

Sorry I can't help you with the Red Garter, not a place I go. LOL
