they're sandbagging him......in the video, do you see him jumping around and running?

the giants will be dealing with a 100% gronk...they're just resting it and helping the swelling go down......there's no need for him to be on his feet this week.....one week of prep next week will be plenty.

This is gonna be so played up.

Not surprising but he told BB after the game he was fine. BB wants the Giants to think he is hurting.;)

Either way I'm not worried. This team doesn't implode because of the loss of one player. Gronk's presence, even if only on the sidelines, will be enough.

Its an ankle sprain, I've had many. It won't get worse, no risk of further injury, no.

We have no idea what this means. It's somewhere in-between pure disinformation and a disaster.

I've been big on saying a lot of him coming back into the game was pure adrenaline, but I assumed he was only blocking from there on out, as he had 0 catches and 0 targets after the injury, but you can clearly see him running routes, specifically on the 2nd INT thrown at Slater, Gronk was running at full speed about 20 yards down field breaking towards the right sideline, he was also open, but Brady had let it fly to Slater.

If he was simply blocking, I'd say it was nothing but adrenaline and a painkiller, but the fact that he was still a receiver after suffering the injury ...it has to be minor for a high ankle sprain, he'll be just fine, especially when the adrenaline gets pumping again, and you can be 100% sure that will be VERY quick in a game of that magnitude with so much on the line.

I'm a lot more worried about how he'll respond after half time. Giants will go low and try to tackle him by the ankles instead of bumping him out of bounds, he better stay on a bike or something during half time or else it will severely hamper him in the second half after he's cooled down a bit. Playing through injuries is very doable, its once you stop that you start feeling it again, and the SB has a very elongated halftime.

Bernard Pollard is such a dirty player... How is this guy even allowed on NFL fields? It's not just against the Pats that he does this....it's against other teams

Pollard is experienced enough to know that you dont throw your whole body into someone's knee like that. But Gronk is tough to tackle so he does have an excuse in this situation, but still. What horrible news to go into a super bowl and not have our best weapon have elite agility and speed. The more I hear about this kind of injury and the more I hear about the hype surrounding the Giants WR weapons, the more I think that it's the Pats that need to keep the Giants off the field, not the other way around.

BAD BAD NEWS

Meanwhile in East Rutherford:

Practice: Nicks out, Bradshaw on field - Giants Blog - ESPN New York
Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (shoulder): Nicks was on the side during practice and appeared to be missing his third straight day. Nicks injured his shoulder against the 49ers but said that he is going to play in the Super Bowl against the Patriots.
...
Cornerback Corey Webster (hamstring): Webster was on the side and later on the bike during the portion open to the side and did not appear to be practicing. He is missing his second straight day of practice and has been dealing with his hamstring injury for weeks now.

Linebacker Jacquian Williams (foot): Williams was out for his second straight day and was actually not present at practice. There has been no real update on the linebacker's status and we will be updated later by coach Tom Coughlin about his status.

Cornerback Will Blackmon (knee): Blackmon was on the side and riding a bike. He missed his second straight day of practice as he battles his knee injury.

but you can clearly see him running routes

I saw this too- I figured he would only be in to block, but when he took off. . . . it can't be too bad. Couple that with the partying, and I think he'll be fine.

high ankle sprain

Unlike common ankle sprains when ligaments around the ankle are torn or receive injury through an inward twisting, high ankle sprains are caused when the lower leg and foot twist out.

same on video. also note how doc says activities like jumping! are often impossible, making this unlikely to be severe with instability, from what i saw.

So, dad didn't spill anything anyone couldn't see just from looking at his foot twist on the field.

high ankle sprain

lmao last semester I had a 30 min conversation with a proffesor about high ankle sprains because of Adrian peterson :rofl:

its likely a low grade sprain like a 1/2 if it was a 3 he would not have came back out ( and from what i understand a grade 3 is like a complete tear soooo)

Pls correct me if im wrong but he should be ok not 100% but good enough

A high ankle sprain is the ligament between the two leg bones, meaning a severe one would be unstable and maybe require a screw to keep the bones together and heal.

You wouldn't be jumping on that. Must be closer to the 2-3 day type.
