Does WEEI realize the Pats are in the SB?

Today is going to be Red Sox talk on WEEI. Yesterday, Ordway mentioned they will have Pedroia and Cherington on.

I agree, though, too much Super Bowl talk leads to stories like we've already been getting from BSPN. Heck, even NFL Radio is focused on the Senior Bowl/draft talk at this point.

WEEI: Thomas and Bruins are the new story. Pats - well there is a week and half to go. There will be plenty of time to talk about them later. I did have to turn the radio off on my way home last night. The discussion of how a player claims to make a non-political statement with a political statement was downright mind numbing. These guys should leave the political discussions out of their repetoire.

That is another one, he tries the Felger/Borges contrarian role but fails miserably, he tries to sound like a football fan.. epic fail in every count.

Merloni is a baseball guy, and pretty much everyone on both stations goes on about the defense.

They have driven me to a place from 10-2 each day I never thought I'd be - 98.5. For WEEI to have thought that these 2 clowns, and that's not hyperbole - they are clowns - would be better than Holley and Arnold (despite the latter's shortcomings) was a mistake of huge proportions. Mut tries so hard to be "hip" that he comes of as a bumbling fool. And Merloni, after a somewhat promising start, has morphed into, as you note, a failed contrarian. That show has become unlistenable to me, but that's just my take. I don't know how Troy Brown, whom I usually enjoy, can take it.

You should hear the douchewaffles here in Indy. The only time they mention the Pats when they are talking about the Super Bowl is when they mention that they're the team the Gints have to play. Other than that it's all Eli, Peyton and the Gints.

I have Sirius/XM so when I get sick of WEEI and 98.5 I go listen to the NFL channel they have good programs. When I need I break from sports talk I go to channel 19 and listen to the King Elvis Presley "thank you very much":rocker:

The Sports Hub is pretty bad in the morning with the two laughing ninnies and un-listenable when Felgis is spewing bile. However Gresh and Scott are great and DA can be OK.

What really ticks me off are the the baseball dweebs calling in to WEEI here just before the Super Bowl; are they living in a Separate Reality? As soon as I hear a nerd say something like "Let's trade ...." I switch to a recorded book.

After listening to 15-20 minutes of Dennis and Callahan this morning, I am actually encouraging them to talk anything but the Pats and the Super Bowl. In the 15-20 minutes I heard:

- Gerry argued the Pats shouldn't show up because the Giants are playing better in every area INCLUDING Manning over Brady (apparently he feels Brady's 6 TD performance doesn't count because the Broncos quit)

- Dennis and Callahan stated the Pats should have resigned Moss this season because he would be a huge upgrade over Ochocinco (maybe, maybe not but hasn't this argument died out already since the Pats are in the Super Bowl)

- Allowed a Giants caller basically act like a homer stating the Giants will kill the Pats without them making a disparaging comment and then have them ridicule a Pats homer caller

- Argue how Madonna is a horrible choice because she really wasn't that relevant to music history and she compared McCain to Hitler

I usually don't listen to those two bozos and I know why. Really?!? Manning is playing better than Brady because of one game? Are they really that dumb? Don't answer that. I already know.

Let Dennis and Callahan do what they do best - do their quasi-political talk show and let them not butcher the Super Bowl like they do.

AT best its like listening to Dakota and Steve from Fall River talk about football, I'm surprised their talking about football at all. The Madonna is Hitler is more up their alley.

I usually don't, but there was nothing else on and I figured since they were talking Pats and the Super Bowl, I would give them a shot. I haven't listened to them since earlier in the year when they were still complaining about how the Pats should have re-signed Randy Moss and how this team sucked. Going to the Super Bowl hasn't changed their tunes.

Wow. Didn't realize it was that bad in Boston. We have it pretty good here in New York.

6 to 10 we have Boomer and Carton. They are not for everybody, but I think they are great. Its not purely a sports show, but they are very entertaining and get great guests.

10 to 1. Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts. Both die hard Met and Jet fans, and are must listen radio when the Jets implode. Especially Joe.

1 to 6. Mike Francessa. He can be an arrogant prick, but he knows sports, and is a great interviewer.

If its that bad, just listen to the WFAN on the web. Even though though its from a New York sport team angle, they do more than New York sports.

BTW Gresh and Zolack will be doing a simulcast with Joe and Evan at 11:00.
