Eli over Brady?

You guys are a bunch of homer morons if your comparing records this year. You guys have one of the easiest divisions in football only one worse is AFC west and you played those junk teams. Of course your going to go 13-3. Once you played a good team, Giants, Steelers, you lost. If you played in NFC east you would of gone 8-8 with that defense.

You mean a good team like the Baltimore Ravens?

Brad Johnson: 61.7% of passes completed. Threw for 29054 yards, with 6.7 yards per attempt. Threw 166 Touchdowns and 122 Interceptions in his career for a cumulative 82.5 passer rating (5% better than the average starting quarterback in the time period he played in).

SuperBowl rings: 1
ProBowls: 2

Eli Manning: 58.4% of passes completed. Threw for 27579 yards, with 7.0 yards per attempt. Has thrown 185 Touchdowns and 129 Interceptions in his career for a cumulative 82.1 passer rating (2% worse than the average starting quarterback in the time period he played in).

SuperBowl rings: 1
ProBowls: 2

Draw your own conclusions.
the fact that Eli doesn't even look better on paper than Brad Johnson shows how Eli is not even on Brady or Rodgers level

Eli isn't even better than Peyton... and I'm sure most QB's would have great if not better seasons if they had Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, and Mario Manningham as wide receivers...

Im sure plenty of QBs would have a great season if they had GRonk, Hernandez, and Welker

Anyone that would seriously prefer Eli Manning over Tom Brady as the QB of their team does not know very much about football.

+1. Manning is a very good QB but he shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Brady. Not even close.

Honestly, records shouldn't even be mentioned if you ask me. Brady is clearly a better QB. How does Eli just all of a sudden jump from being a decent QB to being better than the "elites"?

If he's better than Brady then he's also better than: His brother, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers (arguable), Shuab and Rothlesburger. I still like Vick better than Eli too. They just happened to swap seasons this year.

True. but give him the no-namers Brady had to play with in his earlier years...Eli throws 45 picks lol :D

Seriously... I'm sure the Jets would beg to play the Redskins... The Bills and Dolphins were both much better than them, and the Cowboys and Eagles? they were such jokes the whole season, I'd say the Giants were lucky the whole division sucked. The Pats actually had competition, because the Bills and Dolphins at least played better than their record says.

I'd be against putting Eli Manning in the Hall of Fame before a guy like Ken Stabler, or even Ken Anderson, for that matter.

IF we win, your going to have be pretty pissed in like 12 years then

How about Patten, Branch, Given, Wiggins, Graham, Watson, Gaffney, Gabriel, Jackson, Caldwell?

Going from passing against Ed Reed, Lardarrius Webb and Jimmy smith to Antrel Rolle and Aaron ross... yeah so much pressure on Brady. I'd also say Haloti Ngata is better than anybody on the Giants D line, so the pressure is more on the D stopping Manning. Brady will pass against the Giants with ease, this isn't the Michael Strahan Giants here...

another great point by you

:bricks:

The Eagles & Cowboys were better than their record (especially the Eagles w/ Vick).

The Giants had to play the best teams in the league not just in the regular season, but also to get to where they are. The only real test NE has had in months is Baltimore.

As with most things in football, as opposed to the more individualized team sport of baseball, it's a matter of putting as much data together as possible. For example, and without even getting into all the specific numbers:

Brady - 3 of the very best seasons in NFL history (2007, 2010, 2011)
Brady - 3 Super Bowl victories (could be 4 two weeks from now)
Brady - 4 Super Bowl appearances (will be 5 two weeks from now)
Brady - Best winning percentage of any QB to play 100 games
Brady - Multiple time MVP
Brady - First unanimous MVP in history
Brady - #4 career passer rating in NFL history
Brady - #2 active, #6 all-time in game winning drives
Brady - #2 active, #3 all time in INT%
Brady - #3 active, #23 career all time in TD%
Brady - 7 time Pro Bowler
Brady - Top 5 All time in wins by a QB
Brady - #2 all time playoff winning percentage of any QB with 10+ playoff starts
Brady - #1 active, #43 all time in playoff games started by a player (not just QB)

Seems pretty clear here.

alot of good points

....alot of "TEAM" things too though right?

How about Patten, Branch, Given, Wiggins, Graham, Watson, Gaffney, Gabriel, Jackson, Caldwell?

Gus Frerotte, Daunte Culpepper, and Drew Brees played with Welker yet he didn't produce until he became a Patriot...

The Patriots played the Eagles and Cowboys, so you're not making any point here.

Except for the rest of the point, which is that the Giants had to play them twice, and also played the Packers & 49ers twice, the Saints and the Falcons.

Whereas the Ravens are the only winning team the Pats have beaten.

Not comparing specific to Eli but the evolution of brady's game is something which doesnt get enough credit. Take a look at our offense in 2005 then 2007 and now in 2012 .Three different superbowl eras and vastly different offensive schemes and he has excelled in all . Every year almost the off coordinator and belichick keeps tweaking the offensive scheme and brady keeps producing. And we have Qbs all around the league working with same off coordinators or run the system for eternity or complaining e.g Ben R when their o coord leaves. Wish this got more coverage as this is a very very underrated fact.

Here's a look at the stats from their last 2 meetings, week 9 being the latest and more important 1. Manning was missing Nix and Bradshaw, I'm drwing a blank on any issues we may have had so feel free to add. OL looks to be the difference maker in this game.

Peyton Manning even thought about leaving after Tom Moore left

I already have Eli ahead of Rivers. If Manning wins again, then u have to consider him being there with Brady. He would be 2-0 against him in superbowls. This is why the pressure is on Brady to at least have a great game in the superbowl win or lose.
