Brendon Ayanbadejo: "Two best teams are sitting at home"

If your team.....

Is +2 on turnovers....

Has a "career" day from your QB........

Gets a bad day from the opposing QB.......

and still can't win.......

Maybe it's time to think about the concept of "best". Seems the better case can be made that everything fell into place for them to not suffer a blowout.

Man, you summed it up the best.

Funny, Brendon says he won't be watching the Superbowl. Neither will the Patriots.

Yours is coming soon... end of the season there are 31 losers.

It's clear the best team is not representing the AFC in the Superbowl.. **** happens..

NFC win again.. oh well.

You won the turnover battle, Flacco had a very good day, and Brady had an abnormally bad day... and the Ravens STILL lost. You really think the Pats played their best game yesterday? You really think Brady will have two games like that in a row? The Giants secondary is worse than your's. If the O-Line can keep Osi and Co. off of Brady, he should be able to expose them down the seam, assuming Gronk's ankle heals up before the game.

Once again, you're letting your anger over your team's loss yesterday cloud your critical thinking ability.

Not quite.

My Realty Check series for the Ravens VS Pats game was on point. I called all the matchup issues and they played out.

The Pats escaped to face a matchup nighmare for them.

Eli VS Pats Defense.. that is a clear advantage Giants.

My analysis also calls for Brady to be neutralized by sitting on the bench and the Giants 4 man rush.

Giants by 10+

Can we all agree ?

Does not mean the Pats must lose. You have turnovers, and special teams that could factor.. you never know.. ;-)

You have a point, my head says 37-27 as I posted in the early gut feeling thread. NYG has the advantage on O because they have better backs and receivers while we have better TEs and I hope QB...come on TOM!!!

Their D line is awesome. I am not sure how good their secondary is, do you know? I guess we need to mimic the Red Skins game plan? IDK?

While my head says 37-27, or 10 pts as you say, my heart says we pull this one out by a FG. GO PATS!!!

I think the difference between a good team and a great team is that the great teams can win even if their strengths become weaknesses for a game. As happened to us in the passing game. But the D and running game did just enough to overcome three TOs and win. It was a gutsy game and I realize that Baltimore had some bad breaks but so did the Pats in the 07 SB. Its a game of inches.

Wow.

That put a damper on this day.

You have officially narrowed my smile by .0000000000137 micromillimeters.

Oh wait, no. That much smile narrowage can be attributed to error in your smile-o-meter, as well as to gravitational warping of spacetime due to positive feelings in the New England area - sorta like Ghostbusters 2.

The best AFC is certainly sitting at home now.

That will become painfully obvious in 2 weeks.

It would be delusional to think the Pats match up well to the Giants.

Manning is insane on 3rd Down. The Pats are atrocious defending 3rd down.

Eli > Flacco (right now).. work it out..

Giants front 4 will pressure Brady into another 'bad day'.

No home field advantage for the Patriots spells a double digit loss.

I am however open to 'arguments' countering this reality check.

I could care less about all the above...but I am happy to know all the little kids in Baltimore went to bed sad last night. :D

What a silly notion. The winningest team beat the second winningest team, in regulation, despite a terrible job of officiating, despite the game's best QB brainlocking when he had a chance to put his opponent away, and despite the the opponent getting the lucky bounces for turnovers.

With all that, the #1 team is still going to the Super Bowl and you're? Well.....

....
The Patriots are not ready to hoist the Lombardi. Get a decent defense first.

Nice run though.. soft schedule did help.. the worst time to be exposed is the Superbowl (there should be enough hints by now though)

They will be ready to hoist that trophy when they win in 2 weeks.

Flacco threw for over 300 yards in your house...

....

So did Tim Tebow...just about every QB we've played has career days against our defense but they rarely win...just 3 times in fact.

The Ravens are erratic. That’s why they lose. They are masters of the self inflicted wound. How does a team as good a Baltimore lose 4 games to teams that don’t even make the playoffs? Conversely, the Pats lose to 2 playoff teams and one, at the time, hot Buffalo team (that dropped off after the Fred Jackson injury).

The Pats emphasize playing 60 minutes of football. The Ravens played 59.5 minutes. Lack of discipline.

Why? Just a theory: An over reliance on spiking their intensity with emotion. It starts with ray lewis and permeates the rest of the team so that they’re so geeked up, they forget to hang on to the football in the EZ or can’t calm themselves enough to hit a chip-shot FG.

What is the Ravens record against the Patriots?

Who won their last 2 games?

How can you always lose but still be better?

You really don't understand the concept of competition do you?

The Patriots have had 5 appearances in the Super Bowl since the Ravens last time there. So tell you what, get back to us when they actually win something, OK?

^ that's right..if the ravens beat 1 of 3 bad teams, they are home yesterday and probably win. That's why coach B. is so great, all emphasis is always on the next game..1 game at a time.

The Ravens are to the Steelers as the Jets are to the Patriots. Second fiddle. Congrats on losing yet another AFC Championship.

Yo, Brendon. That's why they play the games.

He's not alone, in fact there was a large contingent of Patriot fans who argued the same thing just last week, the results don't matter only perception matters. You get to decide who is best, not the games and their results.

The only reality that matters here is that the Patriots are in the SB, and the Ravens will be watching it from their couch. If thinking that the Ravens are the better team will make you feel okay about that, then knock yourself out.

The good thing about football, and sports in general, is you only have to have more points than your opponent in the end, whether you truly are the best team or not. I don't care if the whole world thinks B-more was the better team. They won't be playing on February 5th. The Pats will be. And if they win, then that means they are the very best.

 How was your "reality check? You Whiney, D*Bag, Bytch!
So you didn't feel like you looked stupid enough by coming in here and telling us all week how the Ravens were going to beat us, (and instead you guys squandered MANY rare patriots mistakes), but now you want to look like an even bigger loser by trying to come in here and piss in our punch. Keep dreaming LOSER!
We may win the superbowl. we may lose the superbowl.. but one thing is certain... your team is NOT IN THE SUPERBOWL! Dine on those sour grapes! Although it sounds like you've already gorged yourself on them

What kind of a pathetic moron do you need to be, to continue to come and troll our board after a loss...lol.

Say what you want, it's not ruining my good time..because my team is in the superbowl for the 5th time in the last 11 years! Suckah! :rocker:
