So.... two different stories....

Jets expected to simplify playbook for Sanchez | ProFootballTalk

Woody Johnson on Mark Sanchez: “The last thing he is is lazy” | ProFootballTalk

I'm not sure Johnson's doing him any favors. It's probably better to be thought of as a guy who just needs to work harder than to be thought of as a guy who's played 3 seasons and is still too stupid to digest a playbook or come off a primary read.

Either way, it's a win for those watching that train wreck.

I saw that interview snippet and thought Woody Johnson (best name ever or what?!?) was lying his butt off. Are we to believe that the Chief Executive and Chairman of Johnson & Johnson is at the door of the practice facility before the players arrive and also there at the end of the day when they go home? Really?

What? Is Woody Johnson (I laugh every time I type those two names together) the school bus monitor for the New York Jets? Don't you agree that maybe he goes to an office somewhere and keeps an eye on his multi-billion company instead of clocking Mark Sanchez in and out of the locker room every day?

Nice try, Woody.

The two linebacker charges are what's going to kill them. Sanchez' money is high, but it's not something teams don't apportion for. Holmes' money isn't anything obscene for a WR. D'Brick is overpaid and overrated, but he's at least a decent player.

Pace and Scott are shot fighters still getting big paydays. They may end up cutting them outright. That's gotta hurt.

Wasn't Scott's salary for next season guaranteed in exchange for reducing his cap charge this year?

Coaches salaries are not part of the cap to my knowledge.

Nevermind..thought I read Scott as Schotty.

In August the team renegotiated his deal and lowered his 2011 salary by $1 million and his 2012 salary by $1.4 million. In return the Jets gave Scott a full guarantee on his 2011 salary and his 2012 salary, which is $4.2 million. According to a source with knowledge of the Scott deal the salary is fully guaranteed for skill, injury, and cap considerations....

...If the Jets keep Scott he will count for $5.95 million against the cap.
If they cut Scott his cap charge jumps to $7.2 million, a net loss of $1.25 million

The Cost of Cutting Bart Scott

Anyone thinks that the insider source that was brutal against Sanchez might have been Schotty?

No doubt it's a well-known current or former member of the Jets organization.

Schotty, Santonio, Rexy himself, Jenn Sterger ...

Nah, Jenn can't talk because her mouth is full...

From last night, we read of Wrex's angst at Tanny and Rex Talk To The Media

On if any of the players expressed concerns about Sanchez work ethic or attitude to either of them…
RYAN: Well, no, I’ll say this, because I’m on record that part of that is I never had the pulse of the team the way that I would normally have or thought, and so, I’m not going to get into specifics of conversations I had with specific individuals, but that was an area where I know I need to improve in and obviously I will. That was something that was always a strength of mine and we’ll get back to that.

Seems to me the team never had a pulse for old Wrex to find...

When I read the interview, the following image pops into my mind:

The Jets are aging before our eyes. Revis and Cromartie are young but who else? Sanchize? LOL

Mangold
Greene
Ferguson
Kerley
McKnight
Holmes
Keller
Slauson
Connor
Wilson
Connolly
Folk
Harris
Wilkerson
DeVito
Pool
Maybin
Ellis

So...
QB
RB
3/5 OL (1 stiff, 2 players)
2 WR
TE
DL
LB (Partial)
CB

The Jets need upgrades at some positions (QB, RB, LB, S, for example), and they need to get younger in some positions (LB, in particular), but it's not all one big geriatric center over there.

In the end, though, the Jets did, do, and always will suck.

Dude, did you really list their kicker? LOL

Punter, too. I was looking at roster age, after all.

Jets have issues with depth and talent. Age isn't really a killer at most positions, although it's certainly catching up to a good part of the LB corps.

Thats most excellent, you da man.

Nah.... I just try to give a fair shake. With a team like the Jets, that doesn't really matter, because they'll still suck.

When it comes to this thread, if you want to see "Da man", look for the posts of Tunescribe (vicious and sane, though sometimes borderline) or Joker (Bat**** crazy but well worth the reading).

Deus, you're too modest. Your posts are that rare combination of both quality and quantity.

You don't always have to be vicious, sane, borderline or crazy to be considered for "Da man" status.

I used to subscribe to about a half dozen blogs, but this is the only one left, because of people like you.

There should be a " Da man" button alongside the "Like". I'm sure that you would head the list.

You're just jealous...Deus has you beat by 10,000 posts.

You gotta learn to type faster.
I just noticed how many posts Deus has......He Needs to get a Life.
