I sent this thread to my buddy. He is a pink hat to the tenth degree.. Even he said your leaking oil ...

Wow! Great insight. lol Why am i "leaking oil"? See what happens when you surround yourself with pink hats...

Nah..... it's more interesting to watch people bag on your idea, which is a silly one. I'm more than willing to criticize BB, as most here can attest, but going after him based upon overall coaching acumen is just ridiculous.

Fine, i can respect that.

Name one reason that DOESN'T defeat the purpose of having a Patriots "FAN" Forum. Belichick has been coach here a LONG TIME. Was very VERY Successful his first 5 years, not so much his last 5(alluding to playoffs). We have a chance NOW, while we can still WIN to bring in someone new(maybe Cowher) who can turn the defense around the pick the right players to make it work. Maybe a new voice and new scheme/personnel on D will change things for the better. Can't be much worse. IMAGINE how good this team COULD be with a Legit defense!!

Cowher coached Pitt from 1992...won his first Super Bowl in 2006...yeah...let's dump BB and hire Cowher...you're so stupid you are an insult to every dead stupid person who has ever lived

If this season's another one and done there will be some media and fans talking about this very idea...if the Patriots lose their first playoff game again, it will be three consecutive years without a victory in the playoffs, with two one and dones as a #1 or 2 seed, and all three at home. That is "Marty-esque", as in Schottenheimer.....and it could easily happen....
This Patriots team is not good enough to survive in the playoffs if the quarterback doesn't perform like a first team all-pro. This season the team has lost the three games in which Brady's play has been deficient. Gone are the days of yore, when Brady could play average or worse against SD (Twice), Ten, and IND and win a playoff game.
Lets just hope Brady can go three games this postseason with ratings 100+ and a turnover free playoff.....that's what this team needs to win....GO PATS....

I'm not going to for the same reason I don't explain the merits of dental hygiene to a homeless person speaking martian .

If you don't think that Belichick, with everything he has done from developing coaches, to completely turning over a roster in one season, is hands down the best coach in the NFL you are a crazy person. Plain and simple.

WHOA WHOA WHOA! How has the belichick coaching tree done??? AWFUL! Nick Saban is probably the most successful and thats in college. Our Defensive coaching SUCKS. Belichick, had he retired after SB 38 would have forever been known as a Defensive Guru. His defense has since become as soft as Bibi Jones Teets! Sometimes teams need CHANGE, why wait untili we SUCK? Lets do it from a position of power. And why all the name calling/putting me down? We're ALL internet tough guys, but it doesnt add anything(again) to your post. Even if i WAS the dumbest pats fan on earth, i'd expect some value added, intelligent responses. Patsfans.com is not being represented well, by "fans" like you. We all want the same things(Championships). We just differ in opinion what its going to take to get there.

I've been analyzing this forum for the last few weeks and I think I've figured out what the Patriots off-season plan.

-Fire Belichick, replace him with Brian Schottenheimer
-Don't resign Welker; he's not tall and Edelman is just as good.
-Cut an aging Brady, start the Mallet era
-Cut Gostowski to find someone that hits 100 percent of his field goals
-Cut Mayo to find a "playmaker"
-Cut McCourty
-You know, might as well just cut everybody on the team except Gronk.

Am I missing anything? I think that these moves will make the Patriots the favorites in the 2012 season and put us in the driver's seat for a fourth (fifth?!?! :D) Super Bowl!

up til today he had 165 posts...in six years...today he appears an hour before game time posting this over the top inflammatory bullcrap....it's a Rat fan...it's a Rat fan who has held an undercover "Pats fan" handle here for 6 years, just in case he saw an opportunity to drop one of his fake "Pats fan" takes...he's obviously a pathetic, eaten alive by jealousy coward...

Awwwwww...Let me get some tissues for you. I'm MORE of a Patriots Fan than you'll EVER be. I dont need to try and bring down others to make myself feel better. God Forbid you dont like my opinion, i must be a traitor!! Hey, you know what, they're looking for more people like you in iraq or iran!!! If i dont just FOLLOW like a sheep and never disagree and think belichick is GOD(Which, for the first 5 years, he was amazing, like i've said) than i must be a Rats fan(I cant STAND ANY NY teams btw). Tell me you're HAPPY with the way our defense has played over the past 5 years! Tell me you're ok with losing against the Colts in the AFCCG because ouR D couldn't hold a lead! Tell me its cool that the Defense let ELI MANNING of all People come down the field with ELLIS HOBBS one on one with Plaxico at the end of ANOTHER playoff game we SHOULD have won. I'm frustrated, and i'm not afraid to go against the grain. Sorry if you dont have the guts to do the same. I'm concerned about the TEAMS future, i guess YOU are not.

Go watch your Jets, the game starts in 20 and you want a heated debate? are you kidding me? LOL of course you are UBER TROLL. Your words lack of sincerity and you still haven't said who HC should be.

Also, TELL ME how those Posts that YOU Highlighted WOULDN'T Have helped THIS team??

Since the OP mentioned the last five years, I thought it worthwhile to look at those years. Obviously, the big shortfall in BB's coaching over this time is that the Pats haven't won a Superbowl. We all know that. That's a disappointment to us as fans, and I'm sure BB sees it as a failure to achieve his goals.

Let's look at the five teams over that period of time that have won Superbowls, the Packers, Steelers, Saints, and Colts, including the 15 games of 2011:

Packers: 63-33, four winning seasons.

Steelers: 62-33, five winning seasons.

Saints: 61-34, four winning seasons.

Giants: 56-39, four winning seasons.

Colts: 63-32, five winning seasons.

You can see they're all pretty much neck-and-neck over five years, except for the Giants, who are 5-8 wins short of the other four Superbowl winners.

Here's the Pats:

Patriots: 75-20, six winning seasons.

The most remarkable thing was that I first did this compilation not including the 2011 season, and over just the previous five years the Pats had more wins (or the same number) as the other teams had over six seasons. In other words, the Pats have an entire season-of-wins advantage over the other five contenders.

This is a coach and GM that needs to be turned out to pasture? I don't think so. Let's hope for the best in the playoffs.

I'm STUPID? lol YOU are the internet TOUGH GUY name calling users you'll never have to answer to instead of making a better arguement. REAL FANS like myself will call it how it is. At least Cowher could coach up a defense and our Offense is fine like it is. Do you even have an opinion or do you want to keep making yourself look shallow?

I'd like to add that i disagree with all of those except #1 and certainly NOT replace him with Schottenheimer! lol This team just needs a different toughness or scheme and definitely more talent than has been provided. I think we have a REALLY good chance, in spite of our swiss cheese D, to make the Superbowl. Hopefully win it.

Wah Wah WAh. What a DISGRACE to patriots fans. I disagree so i'm a jets fan. You know what, more of YOU have suggested watching the jets or even mentions them than i EVER have so maybe you should take a look in the mirror. I guess i can count on any REAL Patsfans to chat/debate with here. Game starts in 9 minutes, i'm sure i'll see you in the gameday forum crying more about the pats decisions etc.. Enjoy your NEGATIVITY!!!!!! GO PATS

Cowher? Please compare and contrast Cowhers career vs BB and get back to me.

I'm sorry, you're right. I thought he meant they would WANT Belichick to be their coach. Which isn't so hard to believe the way people think i'm crazy for suggesting he goes. I apologize if it wasnt taken out of context. That being said i still havent had ONE arguement why Belichick has been GREAT for this team over the past 5 years.

Over the past 5 years, the Patriots have won more games than any team in the NFL...by NINE.
They have scored the most points.
They have allowed the 3rd fewest.
They have the highest point differential.....by 214.

I would call those things great.

THANK YOU!!!!! Some real discussion. So the question is, could or would we have won in the regular season the same without Bill? I mean, i LOVE winning. But at the end of the Day i love winning Championships more. We are NOT the colts. The Colts were always "Regular Season Champions" only to fail in the playoffs. We SHOULD have at least 2 more championships if our defense didnt fail us in 06 and 07, maybe more. If Bill had made the executive decision at some point to bring in a true Defensive Coordinator could things have been different? I certainly think so. Anyway, thanks for the discussion. I'd like to see a solid win today with NO injuries. GO PATS!!! And Contrary to what a lot of other people think, GO DOLPHINS! I dont want to see the jests in the playoffs as i LOVE watching them fall apart.

Find them yourself! lol I was just stating my opinion, which is apparantly illegal here. I just think at THIS time, with the way our TEAM is built, the offense is fine. Cowher would be better, imo, for the DEFENSE! We can agree to disagree, but man the hate on this board is ridiculous and surprising. We're all PATSFANS or we wouldnt be here. Maybe Pitino was right! lol the negativity on this board SUCKS!!

So THAT Satisfies you? I mean, i LOVE the fact that we achieved those things as well, but they're VERY VERY Hollow with a ring. GREAT would have been having a defense good enough to step on the colts down by like 18 points and maybe, with the PERFECT season on the line, stepping up and stopping eli manning. That EATS at me what we allowed HISTORY, PERFECTION go by the wayside because we couldnt come up with ONE HUGE Stop when needed. Great wins championships!! We both want the same things!!!!! I guess our definitions of "great" are just a little different. In all seriousness though, thanks for actually hashing it out with me and not just spewing garbage etc. I RESPECT your opinions.

Son, you are treading on some hallowed ground, first of all you assessment of this team is way off base. Some here prefer to look a a couple of issues, but fail to take a "long" view.. what is this something like 11 winning seasons in a row, the 9th time we have made the playoffs in this century.. thank god there were not message boards in the early 90's..

So pyss, bytch and moan all you want.. but, I for one consider myself to be one of the luckiest football fans in this country.. when I travel & wear pats gear, usually folks from other towns marvel at our success.

Cowher is the shiny beads theory, he looks good from the network gigs, but in reality when all is said and done BB will surpass any of his accomplishments, and will considered one of the top ten coaches of all time.
