The 2011 season: The Jets Suck (merged a lot)

As the New York Jets begin to process the reality that there most likely will be no back-door path to the playoffs followed by a couple of unlikely road wins in the postseason, one of the factors the franchise will confront is the future of quarterback Mark Sanchez.

A league source tells PFT that the Jets are beginning to realize that Sanchez may not be the answer at the position. That said, the Jets will not publicly acknowledge even the possibility that Sanchez is falling out of favor.

How could they acknowledge it? Coach Rex Ryan already has declared that Sanchez will be the quarterback for as long as Ryan is the coach, a proclamation that could eventually turn out to be as reliable as pretty much every other guarantee Rex has made.

Still, we’re told that the Jets will quietly explore their options, refraining from dropping any hints until they’re ready to pull the trigger — if that’s what they decide to do.

Should be interesting to see what they do. It looks like everyone sees the obvious except JESTS fans who are still blaming the OC/head coach/receivers/offensive line and anyone and anything instead of the incredibly average QB who they traded up for to pick in top 5.

My favorite response on this thread from Jurassic era Jet fan SAR 1...

I know what I see, and what I see is:

1. A team that no longer respects it's head coach and doesn't play hard for him.

2. A coach that can't get a solid performance from his team without resorting to bizarre emotional ploys, and those ploys running out of gas too.

3. An impatient owner with a history of a short-fuse and an itchy trigger finger.

4. A crafty GM with a history of questionable personnel moves that is teflon.

5. An irritable fanbase that got close to the Super Bowl and has no intention of sitting through another rebuild.

6. A still-dominant obstacle in the AFC East that doesn't seem to age or regress.

7. The shelf-life of the average NFL coach at 4 years.

You add all this up, there's something possible there. But more than that, it's Rex Ryan himself- can you see him running a team that will go 5-11 at best for the next two years? Patiently taking a step back, playing the role of the patient teacher? That's not him. He's a win-now head coach. So the minute we become a rebuild, I don't see him wanting to be here or being a good fit either.

SAR I

That's got to be the most honest, level-headed assessment I have EVER seen from a Green Beans fan. Which begs the question: why is he a Green Beans fan?

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if cinci beats baltimore. The Ravens are no lock!

They are. if jets beats miami and baltimore beats cinci (most likely to happen), san diego beats oakland they are in the playoffs but if the titans beat huston they have the tiebreaker over the jets and gets their spot in the playoffs.

Sadly, I don't think it's out of the question that the Jets, Ravens, Chargers and Texans all win. Rooting for the Dolphins in a big way next week; I want to Jets to be kicked out on their own efforts.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

My God, so much Jets hate on Christmas. If I weren't Jewish I'd be ashamed of myself.

Next week on ESPN: "Is Garrard better than Unitas?"

I'm still remembering what they did to us in the playoffs last year and want no part of them in the postseason.

The 2011 Patriots are not the 2010 Patriots and the 2011 Jets are not the 2010 Jets.

I am glad the Jets won't make the playoffs! The team didn't deserve it, the coach didn't deserve it and their fans didn't deserve it and the little children of New York didn't deserve it.

I am at peace...football-wise, I am in a state of euphoria.:D

They can still back their way into the playoffs. Hard but still possible.

Cincy, Titans and Raiders have to lose for them to get in.

For all the little Jet's fans...I'm praying that doesn't happen. It would be a shame.

It's the day AFTER Christmas...so we can let that dog hunt guilt-free!

It's OK, I think Jesus would have hated them as well. Way too much sin on that team -- gluttony, lust, adultery, deception, greed, vanity, profanity, sloth, etc., etc.

Jets fans think getting rid of Schotty Jr. is going fix all the problems on offense. The guy is not a good OC, but he is hindered by having Sanchez as QB. Sanchez can be good enough to play outstanding for a series or two here and there, but his decision making is not good and his passes are off. A better OC is still going to have to deal with Sanchez's limitations.

It goes all the way to the head coach, who has no smarts on that side of the ball.

Jest fans always blame the OC for their sorry @ssed team's woes. It's not the OC's fault their team sux. It's all on their loudmouthed Head Coach letting the inmates run the asylum there in Joisey.

Give them another year and they will run Lard @ss out of town.

Firing shotty, rex, etc still won't fix anything for those louts. The team and the org as a whole have lost thier respect and dignity for the most part. Its not a recent trend. They have been on this road for years and NOTHING seems to even remotely resemble any viable conclusion to adapt a winning strategy. Stubborness? Stupidity, arragance? All of that and the list continues. No, the suckage will live on. And that is a very good thing :D They where born for futility and despair my friends. That alone keeps us entertained. :singing:

What I thought was funny Saturday was seeing Jets fans say they might as well lose so they can get the sucky coaches and players out. Wanting your team to suck so you can get the sucky guys out ... yeah, that's the Jets Fan way.
