No flames for being wrong on a few facts, if you are. Flames are reserved for far more obnoxious offenses. :enranged::nono:

Thanks. Sometimes the"facts police" get their panties in a bunch.....

Re: Pats move ahead of 'Phins for most AFC East Titles (w/ a Fascinating Jets Footnot

Per Wikipedia entry on AFC East:

"The division was formed in 1960 as the AFL Eastern Division. The Bills, Patriots, and (New York) Titans were joined by the Houston Oilers in the original alignment, with the Dolphins joining in 1966. The division was absorbed nearly intact with the AFL-NFL Merger in 1970, but Houston was moved to the AFC Central (formerly the NFL Century Division, now the AFC North) and replaced by the closer Baltimore Colts (from the NFL Coastal Division, which became the NFC West)."

AFC East - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So - confirmed - the Oilers had more AFC East division championships in 10 years than the Jets have had in over 50 years!

You didn't insert a space between the and '"facts police".

We also don't have to worry about drunken ex-QB's trying to kiss sideline reporters on live TV.

Too funny, and even the hated Colts have done the Jets two better. The Colts were also a member of the east for a much shorter number of years, entering in 1970 and exiting in 2002, only 32 years, 60% of the Jets tenure and 50% more titles.

Wow, #4 for the Jets was in 2002!

Re: Pats move ahead of 'Phins for most AFC East Titles (w/ a Fascinating Jets Footnot

That's pretty amazing considering there were only 3 division titles in the first 36 years. Then 11 in the last 15

Houston Oilers- 4
***New York Jets- 4

When do the Jets next play the former Oilers, the Tennessee Titans? It'll be like another Super Bowl for them. They play in so many! :D

Don't mean to throw cold water but I count 14 for the F'in Phins.

According to the Phins Wikipedia page, the number is 13. The debate would be 1982, since it was a nine game strike-shortened season.

Also, the Boston Patriots account for one of our division titles. Probably 14-14 if you look at it objectively.

So it's not just us. The Jets really do suck.

AFL East: 1968, 1969
AFC East: 1998, 2002

Silly Green Turds.

I wish someone had enough time to waste to put together a 2011 post of the year poll thread.

This one gets my vote, just beautiful!! :singing:
