What is it about December that gives the Dolphins the success to do what virtually no other team has been able to do the past 10 years?.....That is they beat the Patriots in December more than once.

The Dolphins shocked the Patriots in December 2004 on MNF,then with a rare shutout of Brady and Co. in 2006 and in 2009 when they came from behind to eek out an improbable win by 1 point.

If history has anything to say, then don't just assume the Dolphins will be a cakewalk on Saturday....maybe it's just an irrelevant thing...but its still interesting.

One difference, though: all three of those games were in Miami.

That's the one thing that this does not include...the home field.

Although the Dolphins looked quite comfortable in chilly Buffalo on Sunday

They will be a handful as always

It's hard to believe that Reggie Bush is just 27 yards away from 1,000.....he didn't get that many yards in 3 seasons in N.O.

cool... sure that will not determine anything in regards to this game though ..

We definitely need to worry about Miami. They are hot right now. Their offense will put up points against us. Our offense needs to, once again, get out there and get 4+ touchdowns.

Of course not,but like I said it's an interesting thing since it's a rare thing when NE loses in December

They also beat the Pats in the 05 season on Jan 1. That game was in New England. Though the Pats did not play the starters the whole game.

They were all in Miami. I can't remember the last time Miami beat us in Foxboro in December?

Edit: saw the post above...yes the "Matt, throw the damn ball into the stands or you will be cut" game. When was the last time they lost in foxboro in December when they were actually trying to win?

not sure if you've seen the bills the last 7 weeks, but everyone has been comfortable there

The last time the Patriots lost to Miami in Foxboro in December was by a score of 24-17 and in Belichick's first season in 2000 ....... On Christmas Eve,that is 12/24/2000

Thanks....they will be a tough out. And I am going which isn't good news! My road record is 6-1 and my home record is 0-4....:bricks:

I am superstitious when it comes to the pats so you'll never see me predict a loss. I truly feel that we will win, but this game will show alot about our team in general.

Chad Henne carved us up and I initially attributed that to being the first game of the season but it became a trend. I am interested in seeing the adjustments made against an even better Matt Moore without the services of our star pass rusher.

And lost in the midst of a losing season is the pretty solid defense the Dolphins are displaying. They are hard to run on and they have seen other teams slow us down and maybe they will be able to emulate a few things this time around. No matter the results, I feel this game, barring injuries, will help us the most heading into the playoffs.

How many times have the Donkeys beat us? What was this weekends outcome?

I am in no way predicting a cakewalk, but I predict that me in my santa hat in 304 will bring a win Saturday!!!

The statistic isn't correct anyway. The second most recent December meeting was in 2007 in Foxboro. Pretty obvious who won that game.

fwiw, the Pats also slaughtered Miami on January 2nd last season.

Sounds like my experience. I've been there for all of the home losses since the 2005 season. I almost got tickets to this game but, for the good of the team, turned them down. :D

Miami's defense concerns me less than Denver's did. I get the feeling we're going to see a 35+ point game out of the Pats, weather permitting.

And BB didn't care about the win, since the Bungles went in the tank that week. [Basically, the Bungles coach said to BB, "Hey, BB, if you want the #3 seed and a game against PIT, be our guest." BB's response was "#@%#% no."]

How many times have we played the Dolphins in December when it actually meant anything? We've had the division locked up by December most of the last decade.

I asked Pherein about this in another thread, Bush is giving the Phins what he never gave to the saints. Def his best year as a pro by far.

I am the opposite in that regard. I put more stock in the phins defensive resurgence. They have faced higher quality offenses than the broncos have and I think they are a legit team against the pass. But I fully expect gronk to have his way with them and the game being in foxboro is a plus.

Pats/Miami- Dec/Jan- under Belichick- (H)5-1 (A)0-3. The Pats bagged it in 1 or 2 of those games.
