Which low profile players would you pick up or trade for?

1) Peyton Hillis

2) Leon Washington since we missed out on Sproles

3) A real cornerback

4) A real cornerback

5) Another real linebacker besides Mayo (Foster?)

6) One more wr on the cheap, someone like Greg Camarillo

7) Another Free Safety

Some secondary defense from Buffalo (Wilson, Byrd)

I agree that Peyton Hillis is the most important need for this team. Lacking Peyton Hillis is definitely the primary reason the Pats have won no superbowls lately.

But yeah, Hillis' 346 yards would really help this team!

Also, a brutal pass rush can make bad DBs look good! But bad pass rush can make good DBs look bad!

And a big lead and prevent defense can make both look worse than they are

Elite enforcer type Safety, please.

With a bow on top.

Well it is a fact. You seem to wish to ignore it, but it still is a fact.
Maybe one of the facts

The other being that the defense is terrible

And a large part of your 'terrible' is based on meaningless yards allowed.
Someone posted earlier this week, quarter by quarter the points allowed rankings. A large part of the points allowed by this defense were allowed when the game was already over. Its probably even more with yards.
See I look at the Colts game for example, and see a D that allowed 100 yards and 3 points building a 31 3 lead, then allowed a bunch of yards and points when the game was out of reach. You look at the stats and say the Colts defense was better. See there are facts, and there are attitudes that you loosely trick the facts into fitting.
I am not interested in the latter.

why do you think they need two real cornerbacks? Arrington and McCourty are both pretty good. Cornerback is an impossible position to play in the NFL with these new rules. They only look good when there is a great defensive line always applying pressure.

Revis (best pure cover corner in the NFL) couldn't cover Matthew Slater (1 career catch) if Brady had more than 4 or 5 seconds in the pocket

Hillis converts on 4th and 2. Fact.

:)

I don't have specific players in mind but i'd say umm...a WR and the D could use help on every level.

Why 2 more Super Bowls?? Would we have reached some predetermined limit??

This team is being rebuilt on the fly, starting in the trenches.. we have had two remarkable drafts in a row.. and BB seems to have hit somewhat of a groove..

The economy of BB has had him focusing on the O side, as that is where are strength lies.. this year an incredible sequence of unfortunate events has impeded growth on the defensive side. No one could have seen the series of injuries that have occurred on the Defensive side..

Adrian Wilson, is a possibility Cardinals are lacking on draft picks since the Kolb trade and he doesn't look like their quaterback of the future we could dangle a second round draft pick and for Wilson and the cardinals could even throw us a future 4th for good measure and Wilson next to Chung equals problem solved.

Also Dashawn Goldson I know he spurned us but he looks like a player in the niners games I have watched.

Laron Landry I'm not sure about he is a physical beast he's been hurt alot I don't know if he's a football player though.

At linebacker, I really like what I see from Anthony Spencer on the Cowboys he would come in and automatically allow us to move to a 3-4 retain Carter for sub packages, Pick up a guy off the radar I think The eagles will part ways with DRC, or the Dolphins could be parted from Sean Smith and we'd be in a great shape with a top 10 defense.

All this team needs on defense is a DE to compliment Carter, a good OLB, and a FS with good ball skills.

I agree partly, couple that with NO PASS RUSH Pats could have had 2 more already.

With all the cap room and draft picks...you'd think that BB would have solved this by now.....agree that rebuilding on the fly while winning 24 games already is impressive....but the goal is winning in the playoffs...not beating up on weak sisters during the regular season......

This year's pass defense doesn't give many fans a warm fuzzy.....maybe they gel during the next few games...maybe Spikes and Chung's return improve their stats......but having only a game or two to knock off the rust isn't ideal....

Let's see them beat the Steelers,Ravens,Houstons and/or other winning teams in the playoffs..( Notice I didn't mention the Jets because I think the Pats are clearly the better team)...

Get healthy and let's see how much they need in the offseason to get to The Dance and win it all again....

I'll be surprised if they make it this year....happy but surprised... :singing:
