Patriots Today - Belichick Breakdown

Looks like ANOTHER Redskin (not just DeAngelo Hall on the Gronk 49 yarder) gave up in the middle of an important play last Sunday.

Check out the lost soul covering Matthew Slater at the top of the screen between 1:46-2:20 of the Belichick breakdown.

Seriously, what is he accomplishing by just running out of bounds and watching the play.

Does he need a beer or popcorn?

Honestly, between the Hall ("I have to cover my man so he doesn't do a pick and roll") abdication and this guy, coupled with Cheech and Chong getting tossed for 3rd time weed violations, the question must be asked if the Redskins as a team even cares at this point.

If I were a Redskin fan, I'd sue for my money back - - that organization is making money hand over fist and is laughing at its customer base.

That's pretty funny. He just runs out of bounds and watches while the play is far from over. It wouldn't surprise me if those players simply have tuned out "Cranky Shanahan." Which, in a way, makes it all the more frightening that they gave us such a game.

Although you could tell that Stallworth and Gaffney wanted to stick it to us, I was disappointed our defense didn't give their patchwork offensive line a tougher go of it.

Looking for Sal Alosi.

that was funny....guess he needed a breather

the play not being over was just a techinicality

It doesnt look good but I am not sure this guy really does anything wrong.

He is supposed to stay away from the ball incase of a funny bounce and clearly there was no return happening on the play.

I guess he probably should turned toward the play and at least see everything in case some crazy quirky thing happened but this to me is nothing like Hall's lazy play.

Yea he got out of the way. If it hits him in the back its going to be a Patriots ball. Smart play. Not like there was going to be a return.

That's what he's supposed to do. He serves no purpose in that mess. If the ball touches him, it's a live ball.

Watch the player nearest the ball, he gets the hell out of Dodge as well.

There was likely a "poison" call and the PR team needs to get away from the football to avoid an accidental touch/fumble.

I think he did not know where the ball was and might have heard the ball bounce and thought it might have been closer to him than it really was. At that point there was nothing he could do. This is not that bad at all.

How 'bout finishing blocking Slater so that he couldn't get in back of the ball before it went into the EZ?

He left Slater and quit BEFORE Slater turned in towards the center of the field when he was nowhere near the ball.

He could have "heard the ball bounce"????

He wasn't within 30 yards of the ball when he began his vacation.

My favorite part was the near the end when Belichick is talking about the WAS receivers and their routes and then you realize how weird it is to play a team with receivers named Stallworth, Gaffney and Moss.

Since he was out of bounds he can't touch the ball first or it's a penalty.

I'd be willing to bet that the ST coach taught him that when he heard the poison call to get the hell out of the way, even if you have to run out of bounds. Why continue blocking? If there is a poison call, you don't know where the ball is so you just clear out.

I'm wondering if you ever played football? He didn't "quit" or "take a vacation". He did what he was coached to do.

He was coached to let the opposing player go right by him? He quit while the Gunner was still with him!!!!

Look closer at WHEN he quit on the play.

He quit once he saw Slater go inside the 10, likely coached to do so since a gunner that deep more than likely means the return is off and he needs to get out of the way to avoid any bounce hitting him.

Chris
