A Balanced Look at the Defense

Watching McCourty makes me want to stab someone. At this point our opponents should have one play: Throw At McCourty.

A lot of alliteration by anxious posters, placed in powerful posts.

Andy, leave your basement. To answer your question, when you go 14-2 and you have a bad defense, you lose at home to a team you beat 45-3 with Mark Sanchez at QB because you can't make stops. That's why win/loss doesn't matter.

These arguments are useless, its like no one remembers last season. AND they are WORSE than last year.

Unless you're statistically speaking, which would reveal that they are better than last years edition.

Wonder which series of downs Andy will throw out this game to support his OP that the Pats Pass D is AWESOME..Add Grossman to the list of assassins

Narrative has already been set:

It will go largley unnoticed, but the Pats defense allowed only 7 points over the 2nd half of that game. But I forgot, the Pats D sucks

Sssssshhhhhh! Don't let that secret out.

Chung being out will also be emphasized.

I don't have anything that I need to support. The OP was not subjective.
Please copy in the part where I said the Pats Pass D is Awesome.
See, when you have to lie about what I said to argue against my point of view, you pretty much prove you have no argument.

I think a QB would have to win to assassinate a team.

My god. The thread that won't die.

There are times that this defense looks absolutely terrible.

There are times that this defense looks pretty good.

There are times when this defense has the killer instinct of a golden retriever.

There are times that this defense makes plays to save games.

This defense is not dominant, but there is some talent.

This defense is not a complete pushover either.

Since the Bills game, this defense is allowing 18.3 ppg. That would put them 5th in the NFL.

As long as the offense is putting up 35 a game, this defense can win a SB

When this offense does not score at least 30, the chances of winning a title go down precipitously.

It is what it is....

Defense looked fantastic today. What a great, gritty win on the road against a championship caliber team. Good stuff.

Actually the defense was horrendous today, but I don't what that has to do with a thread about its first 12 games.

In keeping with the intention of the thread, the defense has now played well enough to deserve to win 9 times and poorly enough to deserve to lose 4 times.

Is there a NFL defense that wouldn't succeed with an offense scoring 30-35 PPG?

Let me get this straight. Since a 14-2 team with a suspect defense once lost in a playoff game, then winning and losing doesn't matter?

12,094 posts. I think you've earned a break - say 'til around April.

You've been told 4 times now.

You typed a post that makes no sense, and since you have repeated 4 times that you think it made sense, that is my problem?
If I say the sky is orange, and you tell me that is wrong, and I tell you 4 times you are wrong to say I am wrong, that is not your fault.

Perhaps you can start working on your first one that contributes anything meaningful

An 18-0 team with a suspect defense lost the SB....see a pattern here yet, if not WAKE UP
