McCourty sucks

There is no sugar coating it anymore.

Don't know what happened to the guy but he went from a dominant shut down corner to a guy who can't cover anyone.

Just awful.

Shocking that this defense has gone downhill since McCourty's return to the lineup.

McCourty is playing tight coverage with absolutely zero safety support.

What you're seeing is what happens in that situation.

Either he starts giving a huge cushion, or we get some safety play. Why not open your eyes and look for the safety support on long passes. if you find some, let me know, I've been looking all game.

Agreed. That third and 18 PI was as bad as it gets. I don't know what's happened either, but he's just horrid. Seems like a nice kid, but he's just lost out there. He's playing corner with the least amount of confidence, at least to the naked eye, that I can ever recall seeing.

McCourty struggles with man to man coverage. He's a solid zone coverage corner. Dunno what else to say, he's having a rough season but I'm not going to give up on a guy who was outstanding for us as a rookie.

I've seen McCourty with tight coverage on a handful of plays. Unfortunately one play that he was reasonable on McCourty was burnt for a large completion.

The problem McCourty is having is BB is putting crap in the backfield at Safety.

I don't know what BB is doing, unless it's throwing McCourty out there with no support at all to see how he can do. Like swinging two bats in the on deck circle.

Outside of having an "s" after his name on the scorecard, I can't imagine anyone less of a coverage safety than Slater, and they have Jones available.

He is worse than Wilhite and Darius Butler. Seriously.

The whole secondary sucks, they make lousy opposing quarterback look brilliant, if this is whats in store for the playoffs we are not going to last very long.

Ok these announcers are atrocious but so is the local media. But when is somebody, anyone going to question the coach on his personnel decisions. Are you trying to tell me the people out there now are better than Merriweather, Sanders, Butler, Wilhite and I am tired of hearing the announcers talk about the depleted secondary the coach is the one who depleted the secondary. I would just like to know why?

Right you are.....saying otherwise is simple excuse making....BB is touted as a defensive genius......and I know it takes talent to implement game plans....but keeping MCty is darn near insanity.....

I thought that horrible 3rd down penalty he had was a sign of a player that was really pressing. Not ready to give up on him just yet.

Said this a couple of months ago during the Chargers game, but I'm confident the Titans secretly kidnapped McCourty and replaced him with Jason McCourty, who still shouldn't be this bad but you know.

McCourty has never been a good man-to-man corner. This isn't a new revelation. Your corners are going to look bad when the safeties are as terrible as ours are.

I thought this was one of his better games of the season..?

That's the problem, the Safeties are so bad it's painting the corners into, well a corner.

He'll look better with Chung back

His arm was sort of dangling down towards the end of the game.
