Peyton Manning: Patriots fans, VERY CLASSY

Booing Vinatieri, is that classy too?

Indeed...considering what he did for this franchise there really is no reason to behave like that.

That kick through the snow is absolutely incredible.

That's pretty cool...

Aside from tossing his O Line under the bus, back in the day, I've always liked Manning, enemy or not, even though I've always considered attempts to paint him as Brady's equal ~ or superior!! ~ rather ludicrous.

And I've always wondered about that O Line bit: Was it just "Our O Line didn't Block and they suck", or something like that...Or was it one those long "I sucked, our O Line sucked, we all sucked" rants that got clipped for a sound bite??

Anyone know or recall?? I'm genuinely curious.

Isn't it obvious that the clowns who booed Vinatieri were not the ones wishing Manning well?

I wasn't there, but I'd have been inclined to do both. Judge me how you like.

Suit yourselves, gentlemen.

Yea maybe you can tell his father what an idiot he is,met him in indy a couple years ago and couldn't believe how rude he was to me and my wife.
Archie has NO class!!!

I didn't wish to offend anyone: I just think it'd be a shame if a Thread dedicated to a moment of respect and kindness between our fans and our arch rival disintegrated into a "Let's Hate Vinatieri" thread. I rescind the "clowns" appellation, Mike. My apologies.

What this says to me is that Peyton himself is a classy guy.

Our fanbase, like all fanbases, is a mixed bag.

Manning: 'Fans couldn't be nicer' - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

Im not sure if this was posted or not. If it was, sorry for reposting!

Thanks for posting that. Yeah, anyone who thinks that the rivalry between Brady and Manning is anything but a case of two friends going at it tooth and nail year after year doesn't understand much about the last decade or about these two guys.

I still harbor the fantasy that Brady and Manning retire in the same year and then present each other for their enshrinement in Canton five years later (wouldn't want to be another QB trying to break through in that class!), but Archie will probably present his son and Kraft or BB will no doubt present Brady.

No it isn't.

As I watched Gostkowski miss a 29 yarder a few weeks ago and as I thought back to the Pats game in the Superdome two years ago when he missed a kick from the identical spot on the field from which Adam won SB XXXVI and when I think back to BB not trusting him to kick a 48 yarder (on fourth and 13!) in a dome in SB XLII, I honestly can't understand the animosity towards Vinatieri.

The 45 yard, line-drive kick into the teeth of a blizzard in the Snow Bowl to send the game into OT was, without dispute even among haters, the greatest kick under pressure in the history of the NFL.

Without Adam Vinatieri, there was no dynasty. Period.

Agreed, that kick was unbelievable. He should never be booed by Patriot fans. It was shameful.

I tend to agree with this.

I am willing to bet dollars to donuts, there was some fans that wished him well and other fans who used foul explitives and bad wishes. Just like some fans booed Adam and others cheered.

Manning choosing to focus on the postive comments instead of the negitive ones says more about him than our fan base.

Completely agree..........except for Jets fans.... and Steelers fans........and Eagles fans.......and Dolphins fans.........and Colts fans............and Charger fans........ and Raiders fans.... They're all awful.

he sounds like a cool dude would love to meet him and Brady one day and have they sign there Rookie cards for me :D
