Could the Denver game be flexed to Sunday night

If DEN beats the Vikes it is a lock to be flexed.

We will play when we play.

Tim (vs) Tommy - Wait a minute doesn't he play goalie for the Boston Bruins?

Our track record in Denver is absolutely horrible. We probably have to win this just to get a first round bye. This Tebowmania thing is a lot of fun except if you are on the receiving end of it.

MIXED FEELINGS
I want flex so I can get a fouth day of skiing in on roadtrip !
night game colder ( im from phoenix)
stinking broncos keep winning = higher ticket prices
I thought they would be giving away tickets, not looking that way
still going to be awesome trip GO PATS
PS PATS IN PHOENIX NEXT YEAR SWEEEET !!

Not quite. The Pats still have a ~2/3 chance of a bye at 12-4, and a ~1/4 chance even at 11-5.

These are/were the protected games, from week ten on. This is not a guess or prediction; these are the actual protected games that cannot be moved to SNF.

Week 10 - CBS: none ------------ FOX: Saints-Falcons
Week 11 - CBS: Chargers-Bears -- FOX: Cowboys-Redskins
Week 12 - CBS: Patriots-Eagles -- FOX: Bears-Raiders
Week 13 - CBS: Jets-Redskins ---- FOX: Packers-Giants
Week 14 - CBS: Pats-Redskins ---- FOX: none
Week 15 - CBS: Jets-Eagles ------ FOX: Redskins-Giants
Week 16 - schedule stays intact due to holiday
Week 17 - NFL decides what changes will be made

And in case anyone is wondering, the rule is that a team can play in no more than four Sunday Night Football games, and can only be scheduled at the start of the season for three.

After thinking about it some more, I would say that is very likely that the game against Denver will be moved to Sunday night.

If the Chargers keep losing and the Broncos keep winning I can see it being flexed.

I think the NFL either keeps the Ravens / Chargers game or flexes the Pats / Broncos game. at the end, I think they choose the Pats / Broncos game.

Why:

1. Although the Ravens and the Pats will still have a lot to play for in week 15. The Ravens are in a tight division and the race for a first round bye / home field is tight with several teams. The Pats could be playing meaningful games right up until the last week when it comes to a first round bye even if they run the table.

2. The Broncos will play the Vikings and the Bears over the next two weeks. Both games are winnable and their playoff hopes will likely still be alive. The Chargers have no chance.

3. The Pats have already been flexed out of a Sunday night game even though the NFL loves Brady. The networks would rather have Brady than anyone on the Ravens or Chargers.

4. Although Tebow has played on a Thursday night, most of the country has yet to see Tebow mania.

5. The Pats have a horrible record over the Broncos even during the Brady years. In fact, I think the Broncos are the only team Brady has a losing record over his career.

I'd be willing to put money on it being flexed. If the Broncos D continues to hold and McGahee's knee doesn't shatter by then the media will be absolutely hysterical with Tebowmania. Putting him up against a "32nd ranked defense" and a TFB-led offense... the storylines write themselves.

I think the Chargers are way over exposed to the national audience.
Given they are on MNF the week before there is really no compelling storyline.
What, the farewell Norv(and maybe AJ) tour ?

Jesus has yet to be shown nationwide on free tv.
After last nights win I would think the chances of a flex are very high.

I'll say, 2-5 when Brady starts.

When's the deadline for NBC to exercise the flex option for its Dec 18th game?

A week from Tuesday(Dec 6) as I was told in another thread.

The deadline to exercise the option to flex a game is twelve days prior, so in this case it is December 6th.

Donks Game to be Flexed?

Just heard that they may change the game to Saturday night. Decision to be made within a few days.

Has anyone else heard this rumor? How many days beforehand do they need to announce this per league rules?

Re: Donks Game to be Flexed?

I hadn't heard about Saturday night...I'd definitely heard that the game had a good chance to be flexed into the Sunday night spot, with the national obsession with Tebow plus the Chargers being so bad.

I'm fine with it either way. But you know Patriots/Tebows would have much higher ratings then Ravens/Chargers.

As I first mentioned Monday morning, looking more and more likely Broncos-Pats will be flexed to Sunday night Dec 18th.

AFAIK, games cannot be flexed to a different day; the deadline for flexing appears to be this Tuesday (i.e., 12 days before, except in Week 17).

Re: Donks Game to be Flexed?

Getting flexed to Sunday Night seems likely, not so much Saturday.

Re: Donks Game to be Flexed?

That would be PERFECT, where did you hear this?

I have a wedding to go to that Sunday evening, out of town
