Tom Martinez, Brady's Coach/Guru, is concerned...

this has been obvious almost all season...

anyone who didn't see it either has not watched Brady close enough, or simply didn't want to accept it

still makes Brady the 2nd best QB in the league this season....but he is not playing like Brady

Martinez claims it takes 3000 reps to train/re-train a muscle. Hmmm...

I worked with athletes and sports trainers designing athletic shoes for long time, even had to do a brutal one week training camp for pro athletes in arizona to learn more about biomechanics. muscle's have memory, retraining them to do something different things with good fluid motion takes at least 3000 good reps.

I've seen people pick up different motions with FAR less reps, it usually takes long because they move WAY too fast, so with every rep they're training in bad movement. If one simply goes slow enough to get the motion just right, and only speeds up if they can sill keep the motion just right, and they'll likely be able to do it in a fraction of the time.

believe it or not that was the bench mark for 3000 perfect reps done exactly how you described:eek:

It's a weighted average factoring in talented people that pick things up quicker and complete no talent hacks(I'm sure they bring that number up).

saw a college QB at the camp trying to make the nfl, kid looked like he needed 10,000reps on the leg work, lol.

For the past few seasons, I've wondered why nobody's ever set up a throwing harness to have Tebow do just what you're talking about with the 3000 reps.

Why doesnt Tebow simply hire the QB whisperer?

They adjusted that number for Tebow to 100,000 he's currently on rep 46,675.

Apparently, we've reached the point where correcting egregious spelling and grammar errors is pedantry.

We never reached that point because it's always been that way. This is a football board, and we don't need a copy editor. Go try to get a job at a newspaper. :p

maybe they can like use SKYPE  like awesome

Martinez would like get to watch brady in Person

I keed I keed.

Emphasis on "like" the word many young highschool and dumb broad girls use.

Brady with an Injury will cause problems with mechanics
cause and EFFECT:cool:

Oh Good God, he's on pace to break the all time passing yards in a season record. Any problems with the New England Patriots have nothing to do with Tom Brady. What the hell is wrong with Patriot fans?

Its a testament to how great he is that he can have an injury and still be one of the top QB's in the game. If you've watched him for the last 10 years you can see somethings bit off. Ill take Brady a bit off over most an QB in the league though.

Kerry Collins had a coach take a liking to him when he was a young boy, eventually steered him to Penn State. The guy used to show him how to grip things, wash up after, stuff like that.

that plus a bunch of stiffs at WR other than welker, who is more of a slot guy than a WR, would explain why he's holding onto the ball way too long.

Don't blame the WR's for throws at their feet, over their heads and behind them.
By the way seems a bit weird that a 10 yr vet still finds a need for a guru.

Well, our receivers don't get much separation. Not everything is their fault, but with Hernandez ailing, all teams really need to focus on are Gronk and Welker.

I don't think it's weird at all for TB to seek Martinez's help even after being in the league 11 years. Players sometimes develop bad habits with their mechanics and they don't realize it until someone else points it out.

People get their mechanics thrown off in sports. It happens all the time. Why wouldn't Brady look to the guy who's been helping him for years?

Unless of course those throws were where they were supposed to be or where only they could get at them...

Tom is the football equivalent of a made man. He wasn't born physically gifted, although he apparently was at the head of the line when mentally gifted and driven were being handed out. Traits he shares with some of his best receivers. What he lacked in raw talent he made up for by being willing to do whatever it took to improve his game. Mechanics are a big part of his success. That he still works to improve or maintain them is just testament to his drive. Not to mention the humility that truly allowed him to set a course for Canton.

The day he ceases striving to get better or to achieve perfection, that's the day you can all start legitimately hollering for his replacement...

Or that Tiger Woods needed a stroke coach or Pete Sampras hired a coach to travel with him. There are many moving parts to throwing a football or swinging a golf club or a tennis racquet. If an athlete wants perfection, every single part has to be replicated perfectly and who better than a coach to keep an eye on that throw or swing and spot where things are going off the rails in order to help correct it.

I know this is easier said then done, the Pats should give Brady the week off when
its time to play Indy.Hoyer can beat Indy heck Indy wants to lose this game.Brady
can get an extra week off and recuperate
.

While they may beat Indy without Brady - I hate to risk a conference loss. Therefore, if the guy really needs rest to heal up - than this is the week, or against Washington.

I doubt you will see him taking anytime off though.....he is a warrior and he'll play, I also doubt how serious this is......tennis elbow or all the other speculation is just that. My take is that it is "normal" overuse type of soreness, which he and most QB's have going on all the time. If we must speculate otherwise, I choose to buy into the bone bruise theory.

If rest were needed and was the solution - that is exactly what the Patriots would do with him, I trust the medical staff 100%.

The best way to get him rest is to get into the playoff BYE week!!
