Belichick "37 points on the best defense in the league bleep-bleep-bleep"

Who cares? Did you hear all the crap they talked after knocking our team out of the playoffs last year? Why are other teams allowed to talk trash about my Pats and my Pats are not allowed to talk trash? Compared to the crap the Jets have said, BB's comment, fabricated or not is not nearly as disrespectful as some of the trash that has come out of the mouths of Cromartie and some of those other defensive players on that team.

Seriously.

You people doubting that this would happen are completely out of touch with the reality of sports.

Of course it could happen.

However, anyone paying any attention, who has watched more than 1.5 hours of Bill Belichick and has observed his speech patterns (and one doesn't have to be a former NSA Linguist to figure it out), would know that;

1) His speech pattern (even on the field) doesn't fit that description - - even when he does curse, i.e. the Derrick Mason situation, it's out of anger, not Rex Ryan-type celebration.

2) Speaking that way with your own son??????? Once again, that's possible with Rex.

and

2) New York Post reporting something overheard that cannot be corroborated or refuted????????? Can I sell you some beautiful oceanfront property in Iowa?

That's a pretty low bar of comparison you're setting.

Should we beat our chests and say that we have fewer arrested players than the Cincinatti Bengals?

Oh please. His son is not a small child.

And he's not Rex Ryan.

Anyone with a passing knowledge of Belichick (even someone who lives in New York ;) ) knows that that simply isn't his speech pattern or how he would speak on a football field with people around him to overhear.

Simple as that.

No, but if they want to beat their chests sometimes, I don't think that they should be criticized for it. They have the right to free speach too just like everyone else. The Patriots hardly ever say anything. If they want to cut loose sometimes, I'm ok with it. Even if our head coach needs to let out his emotions sometimes too. They are human beings, not machines.

The 37 points was greatly helped by the 53 yard catch and run by Ocho. That stretched out the defense and created a lot more passing lanes for Brady over the middle. And yes, I love this quote. The Pats completely outclassed the Jets in every single phase of the game. Belichick can say whatever the hell he wants.

Belichick was asked about the comment this morning on WFAN.

"Any conversations I had privately I'll keep private," he said.

That's the best part of all.

I'm more curious about why the thread title is so overly censored? :confused2:

"37 points on the best defense in the league bleep-bleep-bleep"

Both "suck" and "my" are totally harmless words and are perfectly acceptable to use in everyday conversation. I actually had to click a link in the OP in order to find out what the hubbub was about. That took an extra 30 seconds to determine that this story is a complete and total non-story.

I can't get those 30 seconds back you know. ;)

BB wants the Jets to SHD? :D I think I'm going to be on a cloud the rest of the week! :D

I find it hard to believe he would say those last 3 words to anyone, let alone in front of his son. Or that he'd even say the first part of that sentence.

With all the crap he's taken from that organization, i find it extremely easy to believe, and it makes me love having him as HC of the NEP all the more :rocker:

there is no team in the NFL that Belichick hates more than the Jets...he revils in beating them so I am not surprised he said this. He will never say it publicly, but you could tell how happy he was with the win last night.

just remember that scene in a football life after the titans win Bills watching the Jets lose and says something like "what a great day, we win like that and then the Jets lose"

Didn't watch the documentary, huh?

LOL, the NYPOST is a ****ty Rupert Murdoch rag. 100% chance that they made that quote up.

Nice borderline political rant in the football forum. I'm sure it will go over well.

I don't think you know our coach very well.

There's the infamous story of BB addressing the team during the 03 or 04 season and he told them in a graphic way not to believe what the press was saying...And then Vrabel asked a question about it and the room broke up laughing.....I won't get into specifics and am not sure if it was in Holley's book or from an interview Vrabel gave.....

If its true...lol.

Knowing how the Pats handed the Jets an ass whooping last year in the regular season only to completely suck and lose to them in the playoffs, I would be shocked if Belichick said anything remotely close to this.

You're being obtuse.

Belichick's quote towards Mason was caught on video, word for word, and included in a very popular documentary. Yet people who recount the exchange still constantly and consistently get the quote wrong.

Whether or not it's paraphrased, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Belichick said it, and I doubt you're any closer to the guy than I am. His quote on WFAN this morning just about confirms it, IMO.

If you have been around any sport on any level in a high octane game playing a team you despise you would be surprised on what is said. I have played pick up Ice hockey games with people who never ever swear say a bad thing about a person but once the game starts it changes. I would not be surprised at all id he did say those words. How do you know it is not in his speech pattern? Are you around him 24/7?
