Possible Moss comeback?

I hear that Belichick refused to answer a question about the Pats signing Troy Brown. I am turning into WEEI right now to find out if Troy will tell us when next week he is going to sign with the Pats.

Seriously, Belichick's answer about any player who is not on the Pats is always "I am only concerned with the guys on the roster" or something to that effect. If Belichick is interested or not, that is going to be his basic answer.

:rocker:

I wonder what # he'll wear

FWIW, from Peter King via PFT

As Peter King of Sports Illustrated pointed out during halftime of last night’s Maryland-Notre Dame game on NBC, Moss has not burned his bridge back to Foxborough, and Moss has told one veteran member of the Patriots that the Patriots are the only team for which Moss would play.

As a certain Internet hack pointed out in response, Moss has turned down two teams who offered him contracts this season. If the Pats would call Moss, one of the first topics would be the money. It’s believed that Moss is hoping for an annualized rate of $10 million, which with seven weeks left after Monday equates to $4.11 million for the balance of the year. Moss likely would give the Pats a discount, if the phone rings.

With everything to play for and his next contract riding on his performance last year, Moss was unable to establish himself as a deep threat last year for the Patriots.

… and for the Vikings

… and for the Titans

Did I miss something or is there some reason to think that after aging a year, sitting out an entire offseason and half the regular season he’ll suddenly revert to his 2007 form?

If he signs within the next 10 hours, he'll only need to average 3 TD's a game to break his old record :rocker:

I hope he doesn't come back because that would mean we play like crap tonight and continue to play like crap offensively. The Patriots offense would have to go way downhill for Moss to be offered a spot on this team. This would also mean we are giving up on Chad Ocho. And to be honest, I feel comfortable having him as an experienced backup WR in case Welker or Branch went down. He's Better than Edelman and Price at this point.

Slight tweak to your directionally correct point: Actually, Moss comes back only if there's a really unpleasant run of injuries (and/or player releases) at WR.

Just to strech the field and scare some defenses Moss is WAY more valuable than Invisible Hombre .

Is this seriously a thread? What the hell, stop posting this garbage.

In a hypothetical situation where the Pats did sign Randy Moss, they would have to cut Price. Because if he isn't better than Randy Moss at this stage of his career then there is no hope for the kid. I don't understand why they don't put him on the field. Even if he doesn't know the playbook, just send him deep every play to spread the defense out a bit. I'd rather a WR 50 yards down the field not making a catch than a WR condensing the middle of the field not making a catch.

he doesn't know the playbook? I don't believe that is an issue... He is just a GIMP, always hurt:mad:

Might as well bring back Troy Brown too, and Rodney Harrison, and Tedy Bruschi, and Bobby Hamilton.
