Patriots release Albert Haynesworth

You clearly are one of the bandwagon fans that Arrington was referring to. Haynesworth does not constitute the Pats entire effort to improve the defense. Clearly you weren't paying attention in the abbreviated off-season. See, the Pats also signed Mark Anderson, Shaun Ellis, and Andre Carter.

As for your analogy, I'm pretty sure that Kraft has made some bad investments from time to time. It happens in business.

No one has forgotten about the salary. Haynesworth's salary is 1.5 million. That is squat in this league.

Put a sock in it you slack jawed fan boy. Anderson and Ellis are JAGS in everyone's world but yours. Carter is 31 and has played above his head. He's been great, but for how long? Is he, as they say, the future?

Haynesworth and Ochocinco were the alleged "big splashes", the ones people were talking about. Both have been, and I'll say it again, EPIC FAILURES and huge wastes of money.

Again, if you think Mr. Kraft enjoys pissing money down a toilet you also probably believe in Santa and the Easter bunny.

But if it makes you feel better I'll let this speak for you and the other fanboys current take on the team:

God I miss the leadership we had in 04...

This team has nothing in common with those teams... nothing at all.

Yeah, all these successful 5th round picks we've had in the last 5 years.

Other than my boy, Slater, is there one still on the team?

Dan Koppen, Zoltan Mesko, and Marcus Cannon are the only 5th rounders currently on the team..

This is just the latest step in Belichick's ongoing experiment to see how many games he can win without a defense.

Pats need to cut Ocho and they have purified the team.

Obviously Belichick saw something Pats fans didn't see

A fat tub of goo with virtually no tackles on the season and was probably let go after that altercation on Sunday

Don't know what the big deal is....Brace and Deaderick will be better in his place

That's 1 piece of crap down and one to go......Ocho blowschunkso is next

Belichick has to be responsible for this. He brought him in, and Ocho, and both have been worthless.

I think this goes to prove that Belichick is starting to make irrational decisions, without much thought to them as of late.

Someone needs to step in and run the football operations, because Belichick has done an awful job.

He's a great coach, but he needs to step away from the GM role. It's not worked out the last three years.

I doubt Mr. Kraft just walks to the nearest toilet and flushes millions of dollars down the bowl, but maybe I'm wrong.

Try $1.5 million. That was Fat Albert's 2011 salary. There were also some escalators, which he obviously didn't meet.

Good move. He only played 9 snaps the last game and got pancaked on the td run. I am looking forward to seeing Cannon in action.

So the secondary is butchered and now they are doing the same with the D line...unreal

Now i really don't think they will win sunday

Makes zero sense unless Fat Al total blew up at the entire staff in the last few days--which I guess is a possibility. I will take Haynesworths lazy ass playing 13 plays a game over the overpaid corpse of Shaun Ellis every day of the week. At least he has the potential of drawing a holding call or pushing a lineman back into the QB's face every once and awhile.

Remember when you guys were happy about stealing Shaun Ellis from the Jets? Good times.

The parallels to Sinden and Jacobs are starting to show. At the end Sinden had lost him mind and ability to evaluate talent and Jacobs was just looking to make money. A Red Sox collapse might be only to jolt the Krafts back into the real world. They seem more concerned than winning on the Balance Sheet than the field. Did not sign one TOP 50 Free Agent. This team Sux.

As always, there likely is a lot to this story that we'll never know. I'm willing to bet it was a move BB didn't want to make but had to.

According to an article in the globe, (link below), it was his play in the Giants game that brought about the altercation and inevitably led to his departure. He was quitting on the plays and getting beat by Diehl, whom other PATS players were handling just fine, read on....

Frankly, I expected much more from this guy then we were really getting. You watch, no one will pick him up now.

No this pretty much sums it up

After Giants game, Haynesworth had to go - Extra Points - Boston.com

Why was Albert Haynesworth released today by the Patriots?

He disrespected the uniform and his teammates in the loss to the Giants.

That’s the bottom line.

There are a lot of things that can be tolerated on a football field, even getting regularly beat because of a talent disadvantage.

But not failing to give a full effort. And that’s what Haynesworth did against the Giants.

This sounds like the Albert Haynsworth we've all heard about over the years.

Some of these posts I don't understand? This is addition by subtraction.

He was only on the field for 9 snaps! One of the 9 resulted in a WALK IN TD!

Who cares if you have intensity and heart of your being bulldozed 5 yards down field because you can't do your job? Maybe Love had a bad game, but it's rare that Love does much of anything..

It's rare that either Love or Haynewsorth do anything, but there has to be a reason why Love is getting 46 snaps and Haynesworth is only getting 9 and it's a reason why Haynesworth is gone. He's lazy, has no heart and he's not the player you must think he is.
