I have problems with it and not because of purity. But because I have had family members who have been assaulted in similar fashion and the damage it causes is awful to the victims. While the assaulter gets off and faces no consequences other than a arrest record and community service.

I have no problem saying any player IF convicted of this should be cut/suspended and face heavy fines for their actions.

hopefully there is, but it would be hard to decipher intent on a dance floor......especially if it was crowded.

If he's guilty of a crime, I've got no problem with him being dealt with by the criminal justice system. I simply laugh at the notion that groping a woman is somehow a disqualifier for employment as a football player. There's a credit card slider already on the team, after all.



Then again, I'm not one who buys into the "role model" nonsense.

Can you find any single source that mentions he was there with someone? Every outlet that has reported this has not said he was with anyone much less a teammate (which I think is always a good idea).

my point is that the running off to judgement at this moment is flat out stupid........

now at the end of the day, what can possibly be figured out with drunk people dancing at 1:30am........he might not have even been dancing with her, swung his arm around and inadvertently got her in the crotch or something.........its possible he did it intentionally, but its also possible he didn't even know what he did as incidental random contact is constant on a dance floor....especially at that hour......

what fools certain people will look like if this simply turns out to be a misunderstanding and once everyone sobers up, he apologizes for something he didn't mean to do in the first place and she drops the charges and they all become friends in the end......crazier things have happened.......

I'd like to live in a world where that statement is true, and that there wasn't any room for men who think that this is an acceptable way to treat women.

That said:

(1) I don't know that a single drunken incident like this quite rises to the standard above. [If this were the second time, I'd say it would.]

(2) Unfortunately, in a world where Rapistberger and Ray Lewis are both tolerated, you can't say "there is no room in the NFL," because clearly there is.

I think Eldeman gets released today. Then the Pats re-sign Bodden to active roster. Then Eldeman clears waivers in a few days, and we re-sign him on Friday. Then, being Friday, we release Bodden again 2 days before Giants game.

once you're thrown out of the bar, it doesn't matter.......maybe its practice for teammates to steer clear at that moment....I don't know.....or maybe he knows the owner......

just sounds like another thing that is relatively meaningless in the grand scheme

You can't disprove that he was alone because no media sources have said otherwise.

I wonder how much air time this will kill, I'm visiting my family in boston for a few weeks and so far it's been redsox drama, Gronk's photo, a bit of legit football talk, now this.

Terrible news... I really have enjoyed Edelman being here on the Patriots and I hope this isn't the end of him.
