Maroney consoles Vince Young

How do we know what he's sayng? Maybe he's telling Vince that he sucks and should get a job at MacDonalds.

Along this topic did you see Brady on the field post game looking all around. I think he was looking for Vince and didn't notice him still on the bench.
I saw that , too. Brady was looking for Young and couldn't find him. They became friendly at the ESPY's I heard, and Young had some very good things to say about Brady in public in an interview last week.

Young took that loss very hard, a sign of a big-time gamer that will be a super-star very soon. If we didn't have Brady, I'd want Young. And BTW, that hit Young made on Samuel was legal while being a bit rough...so what? A rough tackle in a football game? NO-o-o-o-o-o-!

I'm not sure there wasn't some Lifesavers candy in that right hand!

This absolutely cracked me up.

But I do think it's a nice picture and I like Vince Young. I also think Jeff Fisher should be strongly considered for Coach of the Year. I remember the early season days when the Titans were arguably the worst team in the league.

One of the soldiers in my unit went to high school in St. Louis with Laurence Maroney and talks a lot about what a great guy he was then. Said he had a lot of friends outside of the football circles and was someone everyone looked up to because he was so gracious.

Anyway- FWIW. I saw that photo and Spc. Washington's comments immediately came to mind.

I love that picture.

Vince Young showed how much he wanted to win. Players with that competitive streak always end up doing well for themselves.

Maroney shows he's a good guy and that he is probably a great teammate to have on your side.

Amen.

I was impressed with VY's heart and class all year long.

And I'm proud of Lawrence, he's definitely a real Patriot-type player.

I don't love this team just because of the "New England" on the moniker. This team and organization stands for something that fans in, say, Cinncinatti or Baltimore or Washington, DC never get to experience.

I'm all for Maroney, but the pic is a little weird. I could see patting him on the shoulder pads and saying "good game" but it looks like he's going overboard. He is the enemy. His team was cheap shotting the whole game.

He practically decapitated Samuel. Someone should have knocked him on his ass.

The other players are the enemy from the starting whistle to when the clock ticks down to triple zeroes. Before and after the game the players are friends and I don't see what is wrong with this.

Take #1

Young: ..........
Maroney: Hey Vince...good job out there...
Young: ..........
Maroney: I feel your pain man, but good game...
Young: ...Thanks man...
Maroney: Love to see you on our side man...seriously, you oughtta consider us someday...

Take #2

Young: ..........
Maroney: I been following you since day #1 man...
Maroney: The leadership, the skills, man, you're the best...
Maroney: But all the cheap shots from your teammates...is very adult content...
Maroney: So...we had to block you from the playoffs...
Young: ...Oh man...
Maroney: Well...have a nice day!
Young: ...you're a nice lady...

Seriously...I think it's a class act by LoMo

Your overexaggerating. Decapitated? Thats ridiculous. He took a snippet of Samuel's face mask and gave him a little clothesline to the ground. Its not as if he grabbed the middle of Samuel's facemask held on tight yanked it back. It was NOTHING.

I saw this pic and I was wondering whether I'd post it somewhere because I thought it was a cool picture. Maroney's awesome. You could see that Young was very dissapointed, Maroney could just be celebrating but he also took time to visit Young and talk to him on the sidelines. Good man. :D

I wish I had the picture of Maroney hugging Dillon, I think after Maroney scored the TD or when he broke OJ's record.

Notice that Dillon seems to picking up a bit of steam as the playoffs begin? No wonder he wasn't upset about the Maroney pick. We now have two sets of relatively fresh legs to pound it in the postseason. And yes, Maroney seems like a class act, a patriots kind of guy.

Difference between good sportsmanship and bad, I suppose.

To me, one of the nice things about football is the way the players play full tilt during the game, yet are able meet on the field afterwards and talk and shake hands. It bothers me that this is not allowed to happen after the Superbowl.

We may dispise Peyton, but Brady and Manning are friends.

I disagree. I don't think that those of us who have never played a down in the NFL have any idea of the emotion, intensity and respect with which MOST of these guys play a very violent game. That's what that picture says to me: emotion, intensity and respect. I hope the picture gets some airtime.

Thought this was an interesting picture:

On a lighter note, I believe Young was overheard to be telling Maroney "S*&t, I locked my keys in the Hummer."

Maroney is a class act.......GO PATS!!!!!!

Ditto both! ......

H37, love that report from Spc Washington. :rocker:

Maroney came from a small background. So for him to be humble so far is a good sign of character from him.

He has been my favorite person to watch this year and look forward to him in the future.

I'm cool with it.

It's not really a big deal at all, it's just one guy telling another "hey, buck up little gipper, we can't all be drafted by 3 time World Champs........... See ya next year". :rocker:

Seriously, show what a real class act LoMo is. He's gonna do great things for us.

Vince Young has a bright future ahead of him. His team overachieved this year, and he should be proud of what they accomplished.

Good to hear and highlights why the Pats picked him. Hard to find such talent to go along with a tremendous attitude. This is why I have hope for all the rookies who might have a tough first year, like Chad Jackson, when they're surrounded by leaders like Brady and peers (and future leaders) like Maroney.

This was class all the way. VY is comer, a classy guy who has great admiration for our favorite QB. He threw a pick and raced downfield to tackle the receiver. Okay, he clotheslined Samuel, we don't like that. Was he thinking "I'm going to kill him" or was he thinking, "oh sh-t, I threw a pick, I've got to stop him." And then gets to him before anyone else. Full tilt, full time. I have to respect that.

Totally different from Wade eyeing Harrison and setting up for a deliberately low block and then laughing afterwards.

I think there is more of this kind of thing than what the networks actually show. At least I hope so.

There is. A ton actually. Networks dont show it because theres no action there. They want to see Belichick throw a right cross into Mangini's face or something.

*See BB barely making contact with Eric.
