Now, Josh Barrett is Declared Out

I can see Bodden being cut as a concern. He is a veteran and the expectation for his level of play was modestly high (though never remotely close to realized for the Patriots). However, Barrett being out is now cause for panic? What are you people on drugs?
For those just sobering up or got to the pharmacy and found no refills available or found out too late their 'contact' is unexpectedly out of town:
Barrett & Bodden available to play = around 300 passing yards allowed.
Barrett & Bodden not available to play = around 300 passing yards allowed.

If you are going to the ATM for cash after midnight, is it really a good thing?

CB: Arrington, McCourty, Adams, Molden

Safety: Chung, Brown, Ihedigbo, Ventrone

Unbelievable, I can't believe the secondary has come to this.

Oh no, WE'RE DOOOOMED!!!1!

Samuel, Gay, Moreland, Poteat

They all went to Ames....

If they all Really did go to Ames it wouldn't have gone out of business

Grants, Woolworth's or Kresges also :D

Barrett, Bodden and Dowling available = depth

Barrett, Bodden and Dowling erased 48 hrs before a game = Ben Roethlisberger at home throwing to Mike Wallace and Heath Miller vs. Ross Ventrone and Phillip Adams at several points during a game.

Can the Pats win? Of course they can! 2004 was an amazing story in that secondary that most people forget. Personnel-wise, however, it isn't a method that should be invited for repitition.

Gronk for safety....:D

We are now one Patrick Chung thumb injury away from going into the Jets game in a couple of weeks with our starting safeties being James Ihedigbo and Ross Ventrone.

Well played.

It wasn't like Josh Barrett was better than the former Jets SS anyway. Let's hope and pray there isn't any injuries on this secondary.

Just means we are one step closer to having to rely on the SECOND best Ventrone brother.

Wow, this really sucks. The front 7 better be able to hit Ben early and often.

So glad I dropped $100 on the Pats -3  , which at the time seemed like a pretty sure thing given the way we historically play them. :bricks:
Right because Leigh Bodden is worth what, 21 points?

Come on. Every team in the NFL that has one injury at S (or cb, dt,de,g,t,wr,olb, ilb) is one more injury away from having 2 backup starters.
We are also one Brady injury away from starting a QB who has never started an NFL game.

We will have a full active roster of DBs, its not a matter of depth.
Its more a question of how those players will play, but feel free to list all of the tremendous #3 and #4 corners and safeties that we have had over the last decade of being the most successful franchise in the NFL and an overall top 5 defense. When you look at it, we (along with the rest of the NFL) have never had superstar nickel corners and backup safeties and guys like Moulden, Adams, Ihedigbo and Ventrone are the caliber that you see in those roles, here and everywhere.

pre-2005 Seymour, Warren, Bruschi, Vrabel, Johnson, Colvin, et al
You mean the Richard Seymour who missed most of the playoffs with an injury and the Colvin who was a shadow of himself after being injured and the Ted Johnson who was over the hill and 2 years passed being told it was OK to leave if he didnt like being inactive?
