Kordell Stewart "The Steelers have no chance to beat the Patriots sunday"

Every team has a chance against every other team on any given Sunday. That said, we just seem to match up exceptionally well against the Steelers.

I agree, I would have felt more confident if he was predicting a Steelers victory.

On the other hand, what are the chance Merril Hoge starts a fight with Stewart live on camera between now and Sunday? That would be amusing to watch.
Seems likely as Hoge would never go against the Steelers and thems fighting words Kordell just spoke.

Well, not without having his eyes forced open, while repeatedly watching steelers vs pats in the playoffs with Beethoven playing iin the background (until he breaks).

Well, it's only a Blog, right?

Nobody pays Kordell for his opinions on actual TV I hope.

They are home.To say they have no shot is silly. This defense can give up points in a hurry. They gonna have to take the crowd out of the game early.

Well, on the plus side, perenniel Steelers homer, Merril Hoge, picks the Steelers.

Didn't mediots say the Jets had no chance last January? God do I hate this crap.

Wow this game has all the makings for a Patriots loss. May as well have my roommate get the NetNanny fired up to block this forum and all major Sports website come monday.

This has to be motivation, but they still have no chance at all.

No, it's just standard operating procedure for the sports media in general and bspn in particular.

Have one person say something semi-outlandish, provocative, and sure to evoke a response from a large segment of the targeted audience.

Promote said commentary on multiple platforms (multiple spots on tv, internet, radio).

Sit back and watch ratings and web hits grow.

Rinse, lather, repeat.

I can almost guarantee that the inception of this commentary came from a producer in a production meeting rather than from Kordell's pre-game analysis of the two teams.

Slightly off topic - about commentary and motivation but not about what Kordell Stewart said - has anybody ever heard this before? I was perusing a Steelers fan forum and here is what some Steeler fan is saying:

"What they say to the media and behind closed doors is completely different. Nfl network interviewed a boston writer who said before the season started, an unnamed pats veteran on the offense said brady said to him "against the I got it" and supposedly there was shots taken at lebeau as well"

First off, did anybody else see this on the NFLN? If so, who was the Boston writer? And if this is true, then why is the writer only bringing it up now? And since when do Pats offensive linemen say things like that about Brady to the Boston media?

Second, there are so many levels of 'this person told that person, who told that other person who told someone else' it's almost useless information.

same things people said before the bills game.

My pronounced hatred for the Steelers goes back for decades but the real truth is those guys don't do Jets stuff like trash talk and degrade players and coaches like the Jets, Lions and other teams do....and the Steelers did win a couple of Super Bowls this past decade to back up thier success as well unlike those teams I mentioned.

The real a-holes regarding the Steelers are the majority of thier fans who act like thier sh!t is ice cream, not the players.

Besides we owe the Steelers a gratitude for stinking up Heinz Field in January 2001 and 2004 :)

For that reason a loss to the Steelers would kill me and hurt the team in the quest for AFC Supremacy but I won't be as pissed as if it were the Trash Talking Rex Jets.

It shouldn't come as a surprise to people that people believe the Patriots to be better than than the Steelers.

Breyers? Edy's? Jack & Jill? :D

“What the Steelers have always done is try to make the quarterback think faster than he’s used to and force a mistake,” an NFC offensive assistant coach said. “It’s really as simple as that. Now, the way they do it is complicated. They’re erratic by intention. But if you have a quarterback who can think faster than they can, who can recognize the holes in the defense, you can get to them because they’re not going to sit back in a bunch of umbrella zones and rush two people.

Maybe the Steelers should take a page from the Casinos who ban people for counting cards, that darn brady just thinks too fast.

How many games will pittsburgh lose before they change?
Since 2006, the Steelers are 3-6 in games against Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Peyton Manning(notes), Eli Manning(notes) and Kurt Warner(notes). Moreover, they have allowed 30 points or more in five of those nine games and at least 20 in all of them. Those quarterbacks have combined for a stunning 106.3 rating (248 completions on 382 attempts, 2,955 yards, 23 touchdown passes and only two interceptions).
