Brady Spent the Bye In the Bahamas, Comments on Gronkowski
By: Ian Logue

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady doesn't get a lot of time off during the season to enjoy a break with his family, but he made the most of it while New England was off during the bye week....

Brady is obviously aware of is Steelers linebacker Troy Polamalu. He said that he and Bill Belichick spent some time yesterday going over film of Polamalu, and that the veteran linebacker is ‘as good as he’s ever been.’

troy is a LB? ;)

troy is a LB? ;)

Even though Troy plays SS for us, he mainly lines up close to the line of scrimmage and plays a robber/rover type position. He free-lances a lot and acts as an extra linebacker if anything in the Steelers schemes if he isn't playing off or in his own sector with playing the obvious passing down.

Troy is allowed to roam in the Steelers defense. He has privileged to break out of the play-call & defensive look if he recognizes or anticipates a play. The guys intangibles and awareness is incredible.

Unfortunately for PIT, though, they're not unGRONKable. :D

I'm wondering if Steelers fans are also aware of Polamalu's incredible inconsistency though. I'll be the first to admit the guy is a great and versatile defender MOST of the time. But there are many plays (and even entire games in fact) where he is a HUGE liability. I mean, he flat-out costs the team touchdowns because of this free-lancing you speak of. Or are all you Steelers fans blind to this?

In the BiBi thread, I goofed on Gronk for carrying around a jersey in his suitcase to break out in times of "need". Apparently Gronk is well known in the lockerroom for always thinking ahead. From the article above:

"The Gronkowski travel bag?" quipped Brady. "The jersey, and the football to throw around at the pool at the Hard Rock..."

There's a football, too? Gronk is the gift that keeps on giving.

Regards,
Chris

Not blind at all. Pick on the Steelers defense if you will but singling out Polamalu out of anybody is ludicrous. It is very well documented that the Steelers defense is a completely different defense without Troy on the field.

The Steelers go from a top 2-3 defense in the league to a mid-tier defense when Troy is off the field or battling injury. The numbers are severely there to support the argument. Troy, at times, gets beat in coverage but he's all over the field & must be accounted for. He plays like a savage and is one of the best defenders in the league to come up with the much needed turnover at the precise time. Sure he's not a great tackler but he's very dynamic and very valuable to the Steelers top ranked defense's over the years. It's pretty obvious how big of an asset he is to the league.

Last season, the Patriots came in here on a bad week for the Steelers. Almost half of the team was out with injury. Now, atleast we're hitting stride.

It's ok, I was listening to the Howard Stern channel on Sirius last night and their news department ran the Gronk pornstar story and they claimed Gronk was a a LB too. Maybe everyone in the NFL are LBs and we just don't realize it.

Yeah, that was my bad. There was another one I messed up a while back too position-wise, although when it comes to Polamalu the only thing I even associate him with is "Head & Shoulders".

Brady has abused him and that's a fact. This is not Cleveland or Cincy. There is a reason Belichick goes pass heavy vs Pitt....because TP is overly aggressive and they use that to their advantage.
Since 2005, Brady worst passing day vs Pitt was a 30 comp-43 atts, 350 yds

great, Brady is spending his time off in the Bahamas, with his family when he should be spending every waking our in the flim room, practice field throwing passes to no one, and in the workout room..

There is obviously a disconnect between him in the patriots. I expect him to be cut before the next game.

should have kept Cassel.

Perhaps all the fame and stardom has caused him to lose focus on the big game! Just like with Romo a few years ago, when he was living it up and enjoying a vacation when he should have been preparing for a game that they Cowboys ended up losing. I can see that Tom's head already is not in this game, as he doesn't even realize that Troy Polamalu is a safety, not a linebacker.

I look for a couple picks from Brady in this one!

If he shows up at all..

Giselle should make him sleep on the couch if he f%$#@'s this game up.
Actually....she should if we don't win SB #4 THIS YEAR!

2004 was a long time ago! He's not getting any younger

Your comment makes me glad I'm not TFB because my wife is such a major football win ball buster that were I Tom and married to her I'd have been on the couch or worse at least since the loss to the Ravens in Jan 2010.

OK, I'm exaggerating a bit because after a while she gets "needy"
