I've been a Steelers fan all my life, and the perception of winning with flying colors quickly became the norm of the new decade thanks to the passing frenzy leauge created by Brady and Manning so I understand when watching a Steelers game (being Pats fans so use to seeing dominant offense's) that they don't look good but I assure you, winning ugly is our motto and the Steelers have been winning that way, decade by decade, since I can remember. As Tomlin says "We aren't interested in style points." No matter how bad Pittsburgh may look, they are always in it and find ways to win. Always gritty.
I also never understood how Pats fans underrated their OWN defense over their Super Bowl years. You guys act like you won the SB with a bunch of scrubs on defense. Bruschi, Law, Samuel, Seymour, Milloy, Harrison, Vrabel, etc. All those years facing the high-powered Colts in the post-season, it was the Pats D stepping up in the spotlight more than ever so Brady did have a solid defense on the opposite end.
As far as Ben being a Dilfer, that's just as asinine and ludicrous as a statement could get. If you could watch Roethlisberger closely, the fierce competitor he displays weekly is incredible. He makes plays people would dream of making under heavy amounts of pressure and under duress. Sure, it's a different style than Brady who's all rhythm and timing, as well as having 10 seconds to throw the ball but Ben is just as dangerous in what he does. If you would read how defenders like Terrelle Suggs, Jason Taylor, Ed Reed countless number of others, they say Roethlisberger gives them the most fits because he's so big and so unpredictable. Believe it or not, the Steelers defense has broken down MANY of times, paving the way for Roethlisberger's clutch 4th QRT comebacks time and time again since 2004.
As far as XL, Ben didn't play his best game, maybe his worst ever but what he did in that post season run was all on his arm, let alone making the game saving tackle at Indianapolis.
