The only reason why Arians doesn't let him loose is because the patch-work offensive line.

How badly beaten up is your OL? The Pats have been playing at 60% starters or worse for most of the year. Is the Steelers worse than that?

Baltimore lost last night Pitt won on Sunday

I wonder if this BAL loss will play a factor in Pitts attitude this Sunday vs. us???

7 Different combinations of starters in 7 games. Yep its pretty awful. Not to mention the in game changes that have been made in almost every game so far this year. Every position has gone down at least 1 time in a game. Heck at one point in a game, think it was week 3, we had the TE getting ready to go in at Tackle if someone else got hurt.

I'm expecting the Steelers to do different stuff from what they've done in the past vs NE. I remember after getting embarrassed last time Lebeau came out and said it's time to do just that in case we met them again in the playoffs.

It's obvious what they've done hasn't worked vs TFB as he slices and dices them so my question is what they're going to do differently?

Maybe BB will let Ocho send boxes of Mustard to Heinz Field?:p

Cinci would not let him:(

Since 2001, the Steelers have played in 5 AFC Championship games. The Patriots played in 5 AFC Championship games. That's 10 years worth of either New England or Pittsburgh in the Title game, representing the AFC Conference.

Of course, Manning and the Colts are the regular season Madonna's but Manning's playoff record rivals the choke artist of Brett Favre's horrible playoff tenure. It's all about the post-seasons IMHO.

With active QB's W's in the post-season it's Brady and Roethlisberger at 1 & 2.

The difference is, the Pats and Colts and probably a couple other teams I can't think of right now usually made the playoffs every year since 2001. With the Steelers it's feast or famine. Win a Super Bowl one year, miss the playoffs the next. Inconsistent franchise with an average QB, and nowhere near the standard established by New England over the last decade.

actually, since 2001 the Steelers have made the playoffs 7 times, the Patriots 8 times and the Colts 9 times.

Since 2001, the AFC Champs have been:
Ravens
Patriots
Raiders
Patriots
Patriots
Steelers
Colts
Patriots
Steelers
Colts
Steelers

Its pretty even between us 3 teams in the AFC the last Decade.

In this league, and especially this year, I hesitate to say that anything is guaranteed, however, historically Brady owns the Steelers unlike any other team.
Of the 31 other teams, there are only 4 teams that he averages over 300 yards per game against:
San Diego (6 games) 300.3 ypg, 12TD, 4INT, 67.4 comp (0 rush TD)
Philly (2 games) 317.5 ypg, 4TD, 0INT, 65.3 comp (0 rush TD)
Chicago (3 games) 321.3 ypg, 6TD, 3INT, 66.4 comp (0 rush TD)
Pitt (5 games) 337.2 ypg, 12TD, 3INT, 68.1 comp (1 rush TD)

And with the way Brady is throwing this year, I could see another 400 yarder pretty easily. Add on to that how we've been running lately and that is a whole lot of offense to contend with. I just don't see the Steelers, no matter what kitchen sink they bring, stopping us on that side of the ball.
The biggest problem we will have is trying (we won't) to contain Wallace. The guy, as Ochocinco tweeted, has no hamstrings. There is a reason I have him on over 50% of my fantasy teams. He will get the ball, and he will get his yards. Especially with our defense. Wallace needs to be bumped, hit, smacked, and beaten at the line and then absolutely smothered there on out if we want to stop him. Brown is getting a ton of targets this year from Ben too, so he will be another we'll want to watch. I'm not too worried about their run game as their offensive line is held together by duct tape and I expect we will be a) solid up front and b) up enough that they will be forced to throw.

Another thing I expect, is that even though I believe that the Steelers will be treating this as a very important game, I think the fact that they play the Ravens the next week will be on their minds as well. The Ravens throttled them to start the year and I doubt they've forgotten it.

My expectation is that with the bonus of coming off our bye week we win the battle at the line on both sides of the ball and that allows Brady to continue to treat Heinz Field as home field and we win in decisive fashion.

Yeah, the Steelers injuries are absolutely ridiculous. I actually can't keep up with the substitutions on our offensive line any longer, that's how bad it has become with insult to injury on that front.

I think going into last week, the Steelers were on their 9th line combination in 7 games. However, ever since Starks came in mixed with our transition to a more passing attack, they have played better and solid, especially in pass protection. The offense is heating up but still remain inconsistent in some area's. The Steelers haven't come close to playing their best ball yet.

Out of the past 10 years, the Steelers have made the playoffs 7/10 times, been to 4 AFC Championship's, 3 Super Bowls and notched 2 Super Bowl victories. The only years they missed the playoffs was 2003/2006/2009. For being an "average" QB, Ben's playoff record is 10-3, #2 for active quarterbacks behind Brady at 14-5. Not quite catching your drift?

Not sure what to think about this game.

If the Pats OL does a good job, I think NE will win this one comfortably, though NE will probably get toasted by Wallace a few times.

But if the OL has one of their occasional bad games or if there's any bad luck it could go downhill fast. I keep thinking of the Halloween 2004 game. Couple of early turnovers and suddenly down 2+ scores and that can change the complexion of things really fast.

I don't think so- I think they will focus specifically on taking Wallace out by isolating a safety on top of him at all time, and leaving Chung in rover. I would not be surprised if we are in the nickel or ruby with three safeties.

Better put pressure against a weak pitt offensive line.I think the steelers will definetly try and attack this secondary. They better cover well this weekend.

While your point is duly noted, I believe he is referring to the losing seasons from Pittsburgh.

Those have not happened here, at least in the past 10 yrs. As a matter of fact, they have only been under 10 wins once..in 2002, at 9-7.

While I agree that Pittsburgh is almost always a major player, they have gone what? 5-11? 6-10? in a couple of those yrs.

That is the difference, at least in his opinion, and in regards to his point.

I'm looking forward to this game, like last year, I'll be going !

Anyone else going, it would be nice to see a few more Pats jersey's walking around

I'll be there, just like last yr Brian.

I live in ths S.Hills area.

I won't however, be wearing my jersey though. As you may know, it's a bit different than some of the other NFL venues, and to me--it's just not worth the all-game hassle that I have to put up with. Having paid so much for tix + only being able to attend Pats games when they're down here in Pittsburgh, the last thing I want to do is put up with a bunch of 'yinzers' all game (no offense to you, of course).

-----

Most of these people don't know who the mayor is, but they'll constantly throw beer, spit on you etc...just not in the mood for that crap all game long. Other cities, no problem. Pittsburgh = you gotta have balls to sit there alone with your jersey. It's not as bad as Philly, but it's close.

Having attended, the two AFCCG's and 2005, I never had a problem.

Just say hello to everybody when you get to the seats.

You guys won't experience any major problems in Heinz Field. The boo's, yes. The heckles? Of course but nothing too out of the ordinary. I've always been around other teams opposing fans in Heinz Field (even though there's NOT MANY) and they walk out of there thanking us for being good sports. Never heard much feather ruffling in Heinz Field.
