Lynch:How to Beat Brady (Cowboys)

he might as well have said that you beat Tom Brady by scoring more points than the Patriots do.

This guy is going to tell everyone how to beat the Patriots when he couldn't even make the practice squad?

The team the plays better offense, defense, and special teams will win.
;)

Please tell me you're being joking, because after much of what I've seen written here recently I can't tell; my sarcasm detector is broken.

But just in case you're not ... guys that have played in about 200 games are not eligible for the practice squad, and future hall-of-famers are unlikely to accept that designation even if it was available. Lynch may still be learning on the job as a writer and analyst, but I wouldn't doubt his credentials as a player.

The secret to beating Tony Romo...

Wait til about the 4th quarter and he'll hand the game over.

Eric Mangini has been on ESPN every other day revealing the 'secret' to stopping Tom Brady. He is really taking that Cleveland game last year seriously. The best way according to him is to keep the D moving around so that Brady can't read what the D is doing pre-snap.

I think Brady was just having one of those days against Cleveland last year and Mangini is just crazy.

The secret to stopping Brady, let him get comfortable throwing all game and working up his stats[like he did against the Bills], then flip the script in the second half and do what the Jets did in the playoffs and mix some blitz in there somewhere.

Well... after thinking about this, it's not gonna work. Now that the hair is gone, he's just gonna let BJGE lay down the law and probably get a few catches from Gronk and Hernandez. After the haircut Brady has returned to being a true team player and has done away with the stats and 50 throws a game.

Now... he's pretty much unstoppable!

There is some truth to what Mangini is saying the problem, like everything else that goes with beating Brady is actually achieving it. Beating their OL with just the front four is really tough to do and only happens rarely. And confusing Brady is usually a one shot deal as once you pull it off once he goes and figures it out so you can't do it again. I honestly think it will be harder than ever with this offense as they can be a speed passing game and a power run game out of the same 2 TE offense, so the "jets formula" of nickel and dime coverages all day won't work as they will run it down your throats all day.

So to according to Lynch, to beat the Patriots, teams have to

a. pressure Brady
b. disrupt their timing
c. tackle

Wow, this is genius! Why didn't anyone ever think of this stuff!!

guys i know the patriots offense has improved a lot since the past few years... but.... if you want to beat brady, see ravens playoff game... jets playoff game... and hopefully not this years playoff game

But that was before Brady cut his hair. This is a completely different situation now.

yeah..the Anti-Samson Effect...looks like Murk Sancrez won't be playing Delilah this season....

So.... hope that Welker is hurt and that Brady throws a pick on unpressured screen plays?

The way to beat any QB is:

1. Get to him before his receivers get open.
2. When #1 fails, have him (or the receivers) so confused that they don't recognize the openings in time.

#2 is what sets successful defensive coaches apart from unsuccessful ones.

The problem with a beating a great QB is that you can't confuse them in the same way consistently, and eventually you run out of ways to do so. BB eventually ran out of ways to confuse Peyton Manning, and I'm guessing that the Ryans either are or soon will be out of ways to confuse Brady.

Hey!! I was up there in 318...sleazed my way down to 108 in the 2nd quarter...but...we were THIS close to meeting in person...I'll bet Kevin Bacon and six degrees of separation figure into this somehow...

Will you be in 318 this weeked? I'm in 319 all the time (yes, even when there's no game).
