What Are the Jets Video Taping?

You think the Patriots were issued the largest fine in NFL history because they had a camerman in the wrong place? Seriously?

It had nothing to do with camera placement.

It had nothing to do with "cheating".

All this was because BB pissed off Goodell. That it nothing else.

If this is true, Goodell needs to be FIRED immediately and indicted for criminal conspiracy.

His decision irreparably harmed the New England Patriots brand...nationwide....he needs to be indicted in Federal court, tried, convicted and sentenced to a Level 3 Federal prison.

I think they were National Geographic's documentary team specializing in filming disasters. Their current subject - The 2011 New York Jets.

Very clever! That gave me a good laugh.

Agreed to some degree.

That said, I hope someon in the Pats' organization like Stacy James pushes this. If nothing else, you hold Goodell's feet to the fire when it comes to enforcing a double standard. At best, the Jets lose a 1st round pick.

For what? All NFL teams have cameramen on their sidelines every week. None of us know the exact rules as to who isn't and who isn't allowed on the sidelines, however, common sense tells us that it is doubtfull that anything illegal is occuring in that picture. First there are no longer defensive signals to video tape and secondly, if no cameramen were allowed on your sidelines you aren't going to conceal them in a jet's team equipment shirt and jets sideline pass.

Maybe they were videotaping to be more efficient the next time one of their coaches trips an opposing player?

While I would like to see this story gain some traction, I don't think it will. The Broncos actually filmed another team's practice last year. The team received a slap on the wrist and the story had a shelf life of a week.

So now you're saying the NFL is parsing the language of the rule? If the rule says no cameramen, and the Jets were not punished, then it's perfectly fine for the Patriots to think the rule gets ignored, especially since the memo used language that said teams were not to use video for gameplay.

Besides, you're totally twisting things now. I never said the Patriots were issued the largest fine ever for a cameraman in the wrong place. You're making a strawman argument. I said the NFL not caring about the Jets cameraman gave little value to the memo issued a year earlier. Jeez

I wish you all would let spygate die. We all knew it was BS when it blew up the first time. Its never going to have repercusions like that again with any other coach. Unfortunately Beli was the example. Happens, same **** happened to me at work a few weeks ago.

Because it's a no-lose proposition for the Patriots.

Of course there are cameras on every NFL sideline. The point is that the league told the TEAMS to stop it, and there's a picture of what appears to be the Jets' QC coach videotaping from the sideline. Most of the other cameras belong to the media, not the teams. Make the NFL squirm. Make them explain why they whacked the Pats, but it's OK for the Jets.

I looked on my DVR and found the same thing! By the way NEPatsNewsFeed on Twitter and Ian Rappaport are looking into this now.

That is a credentialed member of the media. The vest is what shows that he's legit. It's probably somebody recording for a show like Patriots All Access. They always have their own cameramen on the sidelines. Also there's no more signals to be taped now that defensive players have wireless communication.

I was a ringleader of the "Jets were taping too" in 2007 but this is nothing.

Also if you're going to tape the other teams signals it would be a team video assistant with a small handheld, not a broadcast quality camera.

I mustve misunderstood your comment. Why would the Patriots all access film crew be wearing Jets credentials like the person in the original photo? Are you referring to another pic? Also, keep in mind. Our camera man was using a "broadcast" quality camera when he was busted in 07

the craziest stuff comes out of these jets pats games, so entertaining

you ain't seen nothing yet.....
