Questions about Brady from a Jets fan..

I love the old, if the Pats can replace Brady, but the Colts can't replace Manning, obviously Manning is better argument.

So because we were smart and actually work to be able to replace Tom when he gets hurt or retires, and the Colts just ignore the "after Peyton Manning era," Brady is a worse QB. Interesting argument.

I've often wondered why, if the reason for Brady's success is "the system", given that teams have all the game tapes, why dont they just copy this great system? Surely this "system" can even make a below average QB like Sanchez look capable.

The answer is obvious.....we cheat. :p

It never ceases to amaze me how Jets fans can question Brady. Considering the crappy QBs they've had over the years, they can't possibly even begin to comprehend what constitutes a good QB, let alone a great one.

It's like asking a virgin what it's like to have sex. They might have heard about it or even seen other people doing it, but they have no fricken clue what they're talking about.

Which system is this then?

The Charlie Weis one? Or the Josh McDaniels one? Or could it even be the Bill O'Brien system?

Some people keep trying to say Brady is a system QB but how many different coordinators and offensive styles has he played under as a Patriot?

The answer is multi-level, but all part of the whole. New England makes it a point to draft what they believe to be quality QB's and work on them to coach them up, let them learn from TFB and others they bring in. They also don't just throw money around willy-nilly. They look at the entire team and work to draft players they believe will fit into it ( and also who they believe to be the best player available at that draft position, both talent and value-wise).

The Colts have never worked to find a potential replacement for Manning. Thus the Collins/Painter debacle. It isn't so much that either of those two aren't good QB's, but that they haven't had enough time in the system to BE good with it, AND the Colts also haven't addressed other issues they have such as the O-line, a new tight end, a new WR, etc. Basically, the Colts have kepts rolling the dice and this year they came up snake eyes.

Football teams are like nice cars. If you keep up with the maintenance, keep them clean and use them as intended, they will last you for a very long time. The Colts took a fine car, put cheap gas into it, didn't change the oil or rotate the tires, ignored the warning indicators and now have broken down along the highway. It appears they didn't bother to enroll in AAA either, so they're scrambling for roadside assistance. :(

The Patriots have done all the right things, and that's why they keep humming along every year, the car starts reliably, the heater works, the tires don't blow out, and if they do, there's a spare in the trunk, and the insurance is up to date. :D

Seems simple to me........

Holy cow! I could not figure out what this thread was about and then I went over to Jets Insider to see what they were writing about and it was astonishing.

Ian, the moderators and the posters here are spectacular compared to that juvenile vitriole. One guy tries to make a point about the Colts and Pats and what happened when Brady went down compared to the Colts demise this year and guys start calling him names. Awful.

There's no football talk at all in that thread just a bunch of guys calling each other names and they're all Jets fans. I blame their moderators for not policing that board properly and keeping it remotely civil. Gang Green is much better.

Jetsinsider.com should be shut down.

Doug Flutie attempted 10 passes under BB...and Jets fans are claiming he's an example of how the system makes TB look good.

Question about Brady - Jets Insider.com Forums

And they have Sanchez leading them:bricks:

That Jets team wasn't good, the Steelers, Chargers, Colts etc that Cassel lost to were good. His two great seasons were with a solid running game, 08 Pats best since the 80 something Pats, and the 10 Chiefs who rushed for like 2000+ and might have led the league. With JC out Cassel is obviously going to struggle, as he would with the Pats run game of last year and maybe this year, seeing as BJGE is a product of Brady.

People always ignore how the Pats ran better and more with Cassel than they prob ever did with Brady. Add a drop off of 5 wins and 29 TDs and the argument can't be taken seriously.

Other than to go to their message board to taunt them at times like this, why do we even care what a Jets forum has posted?

It is really sad to see how the JI board has regressed over the years. I had posted on that board since 2002 when their owner, Soothsayer, came over here to participate in some Jets/Pats talk and invited some Pats fans over. I had a lot of fun jousting with Jet fans over the years. However in the last few years, it became clear that the haters and internet tough guys had taken over the board. All football discussion pretty much ended. when the best response that most could give to a football discussion was "GFY". ;)

Out of habit, I occasionally drop by to lurk and see what error filled, delusional posts concerning the Pats has been filed. This is just one of many that you would find. In fact its better than most. I know its wrong, but I can't help it. I guess its the "car wreck" syndrome. You can't help but look.

I do feel bad for Sooth, and the few good Jet die hards who are left.. For a long time he ran an interesting board. Now the numbers are down drastically and look like they are sinking fast. The only reason to go their now is to make fun of them.

That message board is worse than any Steeler incarnation. And that is saying something.
