Yup this whole argument doesnt even matter, shouldnt be called on a tipped pass. The Pats could have challenged the call if someone in the replay booth had noticed.

You can't challenge pass interference calls can you?

you can't challenge penelties

But am I really expected to come on here and complain about a call that while wrong went in our favor?
No, probably not. But when you (and not just you) come here and complain about the other team getting unfair breaks, maybe it would be wise to think of those other penalties that go our way sometimes and realize that bad calls happen in sports. Everyone acts like they only happen against us.

I can't remember anything with nearly this magnitude ever being called wrong on the Pats. A hold here and there, sure. DPI on a ball that was tipped and led to a 1 yard TD rather than a pick? No way.

He ran into the receiver. You can't do that, even if the ball is uncatchable, it would be illegal contact. So while the effect was huge, the call wasn't that bad (one can see how an official would miss the ball being tipped if its direction wasn't changed by the tip). But the twisting that goes on here is remarkable. Sour grapes & excuses; good thing the Pats are better at taking responsibility for a loss than most of the posters at Patsfans.com.

Good to know we can now add the bozo(s) in the Pats replay booth to the long list of players and coaches responsible for the up by 21 loss debacle. Not just a team loss, but an organization loss!

I'm on to Oakland.

I am pretty sure it doesn't matter and that they couldn't have challenged it anyways..

What Sergio Brown did is completely irrelevant. When the ball is tipped, he can tackle the WR with no consequences. The ref flat out blew the call. That's a fact.

In all seriousness I don't have a problem with that call. It's simply the way the league has chosen to call PI. I don't like the way it's done in general but I'm confident that the refs would call it the same way most of the time regardless of who the teams were. For us, against us.

Ahh yes, the pass was tipped, that must be 4th or 5th reason people gave in this thread for why it shouldn't have been a call (it was actually offensive PI... the ball was uncatchable... he was held... he cut in front of Brown... the ball was tipped...). Let's see the tip.

Twitter / Jeff Howe: After looking at the play ...
After looking at the play with @GregABedard, it's still too difficult to see a Spikes deflection. Players were adamant about it, though.

Apparently you can only see it from the coaches' film. Feel free to ask any of the players to prove it to you.

I see, so you don't have evidence, you just think we should take the players' word for it. Never mind that the players aren't the ones *****ing about it, just the sore losers here.

The film they're watching is a hell of a lot better than what we get to watch. And they're not complaining about it per se, just pointing it out. You really believe the guys would be adamant about something like that if it didn't really happen? Oh please.

I don't see any sore losers nor complaints, except yours.

What is with the censorship? If you don't want to discuss something, don't open the thread.

I like to discuss and learn from close calls like this. It helps me understand the rules of the game in a more precise way.

I know they (the players) aren't complaining, because they're not whiners, unlike their online fans. But the online fans don't have any evidence, and the word of players who were in the contest and obviously biased (even unintentionally) doesn't count for crap.

"Was your client the murderer?"
"He says he wasn't, and he'd know better than anyone!"

Let me ask you a question, what if we asked the Bills players? They have access to the same coaches' tape.

Who's censoring? I neither have the authority nor the inclination to delete anyone's posts. Me rebutting your opinion with my own is not censorship.

When you attempt to suppress a discussion, you are censoring it by definition.

And you aren't countering anything save my attempt to learn. You didn't offer any proof of anything yourself. All you did was come in here, start namecalling and try to pressure people into not posting so they don't get bashed. I find that rude.
