I think Reiss re-tweeted something that said that Carter lead with the top of his helmet instead of his facemask. Had he not lead with the top of his head, it's 100% legal.

Not to be that guy, but the refs were all about the Chargers yesterday. You could tell that Tom was about to freak out when they didn't call the face swipe that was done on Branch during the 4th + 4 play.

Also, Tom credited his knee brace for taking some of the shock of the hit during his WEEI interview.

Says he doesn't know what he was thinking, not wearing one pre-ACL injury, and feels all QB's should brace that knee because of it's vulnerability.

You know what pisses me off, those players are on the ground because they GOT BEAT. So to compound their suckiness, they then recklessly dive at people's knees. What a winner.

I think the league should start suspending players for these cheap shots, these are people's careers we are talking about being put at risk by morons who are too stupid to play the proper way.

The Pollard hit was the 2008 KC opening day hit on Brady.

This doesn't really deserve it's own thread so I'll put it here.

Why is it ok for an offensive player to lead with his head when a defensive player can not? The play that knocked Arrington from the game is the one that makes me ask this.

Was definitely scared. It did look really bad. It just shows, a fraction of an inch could mean a season.

Because of ESPN constantly harping on the "Brady Rule"...the refs are now,actually,overly sensitive about applying it to it's namesake...ergo...Tom Brady....ironic...isn't it?:bricks:

I thought it was a Patriot body that was fallen by a tackle and his body hit the knee correct me if I am wrong. It was kinda both but the blue body into the knee had me real scared

Honestly, the SD defender should be heavily fined and maybe even suspended for that hit. Clear, deliberate intent to inflict a career-threatening injury.

Hi friends,,,just saw a recorded replay and i swear it looked like that player whoever he was , had a dirty intention to hurt Tommy. Maybe he was told to dive low,,who knows but i still cant understand why no flags were thrown. On another topic in the same game,,now i really like Phil Simms,,,but did anyone also get tired of him making excuses for the Bolts ? I kept shouting ' please shut up " It was like he expected San Diego to win !
