Remember all that talk about Branch in the preseason, how he hadn't had a single catch? Well once the regular games began, boy has Branch lit it up!

Game 1 - 7 catches 93 yards
Game 2 - 8 catches 129 yards

We talk so much about the tight ends on this team, and justifiably so. But news flash - we've also got some good wide receivers and Branch is one of them!

I just caught his presser and he talked about how last year, he hadn't even caught up to all the new stuff the Pats were doing in their system yet. But how this year during training camp he finallly got caught up to the rest of the receivers. Isn't that amazing, to see what Branch can do now that he has 'caught up'. Last year was basically a learning year for him and he already looked pretty good. And the way he was talking, I honestly believe that he thinks this offense can get even better. I mean wow - 38 and 35 points, and this offense could get BETTER? Scary thoughts man.

I also love how Branch was smiling and just looking so happy during the interview. He just looks so pleased to be in New England again. Also I can't wait until Ocho gets 'caught up' with the Pats system. Let's cut him some slack, Branch has been playing in the Pats system forever except for that brief hiatus in Seattle and it even took him time to get caught up. Just imagine when all the receivers are on the same page as Brady?? Gonna be a nightmare to defense!

Mark my words, the Pats offense in 2011 has the potential to be scary good. Maybe even better than 2007! And Branch is going to be a key player for us during our run. We're in the middle of watching something special develop and it is just so exciting and awesome to watch! Games 1 and 2 are just appetizers for the main course. Buckle in and enjoy the ride!!

So many hated Deion when he left for Seattle

I still liked the guy when he was gone as much as I like him now

Brady is Peanut Butter and Branch is Jelly...it will be that way until one retires...they were born to play together

The talk in the preseason was all about Ocho and Welker and it seemed many forgot about Branch. I had a good feeling about him coming into this season and figured we hadn't seen the last of him. I'm happy he's been playing at such a high level.:rocker:

You make great points about Branch, New England is the one offensive system he really seems to thrive in. He definitely is on pace for an excellent season.

In his 11 games with the Pats last season, he was on 1000 yards over 16 games pace. Of course, even I didn't expect this out of him.

Yeah i do, i posted that they knew what they had in Branch, and that they needed to get other players catches to get them up to speed. Its a constant around here that if someone doesn't play they must be in the dog house or they're about to Released.

How old is he? Cause he's playing like he's just hitting his prime. :rocker:

I am awed by the guy. I truly thought he lost a step in Seattle and was luke warm on his return. He's actually better now it seems than he was the first go round. Some of it maturity, better QB and other wr's/tes.

Really is amazing and I just can't see Chad breaking full time into this offense as long as we are running a 2 te, 2wr set as long as we have Welker and Branch. But I'd still be more than happy for his contributions, especially after those 2 big grabs today.

So much for him not having a catch in the preseason.

favorite player in Pats history for a reason.

Great game from Branch, and I think the most impressive was the two players just before the half setting up the FG!

Great plays from Brady and Branch for getting out of bounds twice in 9 seconds!

I wasn't worried about Branch in the preseason at all. There's something special about that Brady to Branch connection. We saw what happened in his 1st game back with us vs the Ravens.

He and Brady are special together... I don't think any QB in the league can get out of Branch what we're seeing from him. Just great synergy.

Trading him for Maroney, indirectly but that was pretty much the trade, was brilliant.

Meant to say trading Maroney for him. Tried editing but keeps crashing on my phone. I'll edit it later.
