Nice.

Simply put, Vereen is very likely going to be special.

And the obsessive desire to see him ~ and so many other great prospects ~ in the most negative possible light...is equal parts exasperating and amusing.

And pretty typical here, sometimes when I read this board I think the Pats are a 2-14 team with no hope of ever getting to the playoffs.
I know New Englanders are pessimistic by nature but some take it too far.

I like Vereen's style and his development, will be looking forward to seeing more looks of him on Sundays with Ridley, and the rest of the rotation.

Man, his team was pretty weak. I saw a shifty guy with good explosiveness and not a huge amount of power, seemed to know how to get under that last tackle, a bit awkward in pass receiving, good defensive runner, I thought he expected to have to split two guys on most runs.

It's not merely pessimism. Some people become so convinced they're right that they want the team to fail so they can go 'SEE, SEE, LOOK AT HOW SMART I AM'.

Actually this team is pretty strong, just need to see more of Shane Vereen. Based on what I've seen from him in college and what I've heard lately, he is pretty good.

I do not like what I am seeing here. Vereen has a slow first step. He stops and stutters before he makes his first move....sort of like Ron Dane. Also he run rather upright; he could get killed in the NFL. Maybe he can learn to drop the stutter step but Ron Dane never did.

How much of that film did you watch? :bricks:

Ron DaYne ate Shane Vereen. Comparing their first step is laughable. Let's compare Jerome Bettis and Danny Woodhead next.

I haven't read this entire thread...just noticed the debate at the end here about Vereen apparently dancing too much. Well, I just watched a 10 minute long 30 play highlight reel with this kid and I saw none of that. Not only that but what I saw is a great player. Very well rounded, catches great, runs great, hits the hole great, has great vision, can make people miss, and can drag people for extra yardage. I am very excited to see what this kid can do. He looks special to me.

Any chance Vereen makes the active roster on gameday soon or is he that far behind Ridley? I'd love to see this kid in action with the first teamers at some point.

Right now only one man knows the answer to your question. The rest of us can only guess with "maybe". BB will play them (including Ridley) when their individuals skill sets benefit the game plan- or one of BJGE or Woodhead get hurt.

Thats great news. If our 4th string running back is going to be "special" than the Pats have the best running back group in the NFL. Hope its true.

Did you see his bench reps at the combine? Didn't think so. He was either, first or second out of all the RB's.

Maybe, just like when Tom Terrific was our 4th string QB!:D

great news. Ridley was supposed to be the big bruising guy, that doesn't seem to be the case, he's shiftier than anyone thought. I wonder how Vereen will be quickness wise in comparison.

I think faster and a better RB out of the backfield as a receiver.

 Maroney II

If he starts comparing the RB group to the Power Rangers, we're in trouble.

Well if they combine into one giant robot then I think it's our opponents who are in real trouble!!
