Who is still available at OG???

Dallas sat him the entire game so he may be available. I'd be interested if he would be up for re-negotiating his salary.

One concern might be the whole head stomp issue between him and Haynesworth. It was a while ago but I'd probably want to make sure it was settled before making the trade.

With what we saw of our offensive line, going against good defenses (Giants in SB, Ravens in the playoffs, Jets in playoffs, and now the Lions), I'd go for Garode. He just made five straight pro bowls, and he's only 32. Imagine adding pro bowl quality to the mix? I think it would be worth it. It affects Brady to get battered around, because in all the aforementioned games, he was battered so much that he missed alot of open WRs even when he didn't truly have pressure. Let's add another stud, I say.

A few names that are available at Guard; Seubert looks like the best of the bunch if he is healthy enough to play:

Rich Seubert, 32, Giants
Trai Essex, 28, Steelers
Brian Waters, 34, Chiefs
Leonard Davis, 32, Cowboys
Derrick Dockery, 30, Redskins
Doug Legursky, 25, Steelers
Will Montgomery, 28, Redskins
Chester Pitts, 32, Seahawks
Vince Manuwai, 31, Jaguars
Nick Cole, 27, Eagles
Reggie Wells, 30, Eagles
Steve Vallos, 27, Browns
Herman Johnson, 26, Giants
Mike Williams, 31, Redskins
Bryan Mattison, 27, Ravens

Thanks for the list; I believe that Wells has re-signed w/ the Eagles?

A one-year contract with Woody makes sense to me.
He retire because he has nothing left and had 2 severe injuries last year.
From what we know of Woody he is probably about 375lbs right now.

+1. Plus I think most of us forget what he said prior to the Jan 17th game.
What an idiot.

It's less about the Pats NOT moving the aging and now average LT Light to RG, than it is about Light shooting down every suggestion over the past few years that he plays anywhere else but LT - he even refused to consider RT from what I remember.
You are simply making that up.

Stop hating on Light, he isn't as bad as you're making him out to be. There were many other issues on the OL last night besides Light, including Solder.

I was referring to Light in general, his failures against speed rushers the past two years, and his advancing age place him at best around 10th at LT in the NFL and he could easily end up closer to 20th at the end of the year. That's not hate, that's Light.

Also, I refer you and others to Light's playoff performances back to the Giants game - not very good at all as memory serves.

No, I am certainly not. I couldn't find a citation just now, so we'll just have to wait until someone else that remembers reading this pipes in.

That's not true. Vollmer didn't start right away, Kaczur did. He didn't take over as the starter until midway through the year.

Actually Vollmer started 5 games at LT (for Light) and 3 at RT (For Kaczur). He also played in 6 other games.

I wouldn't say Solder is more talented than Vollmer either...

That's your right, but a guy picked at #58 (and seen as a reach by many, that was projected to be a RT) on the surface doesn't seem to be as highly respected as a player getting drafted 17th that is projected as a LT. Also Solder was very impressive on that sports science show on Solder, and BB said when asked earlier this year about position changes said Solder was a LT and Vollmer a RT - when he rejected the notion of Solder at RT to "break him in".

BTW, don't get me wrong, Vollmer is a superb player, I'm talking about from draft time to a few weeks before the 1st game, not comparing Solder vs the way Vollmer has turned out.

I believe Faine got injured and went on IR leaving the door open for Ted Larsen. He has supposedly a lot of injury history and due $4.6m this year. Seems like Tampa Bay are willing to keep him around.

I was going to say...how could you lose your job to Ted Larsen and have any value? curiosity led me to check out reports of Larsen's performance, and they're not good.

link??????

or were you referring to all the 'suggestions' from patsfans posters?

Which giants game? The SB? If so, your memory fails you. sorry ;)

We'll see. Vollmer got the RG job right away in his rookie year, and Solder is more talented then Vollmer, all he has to overcome is a short period to get ready.

Light will be relegated to an expensive spare part soon enough.

Say what? Vollmer was the primary back-up to Kaczur and Light during his first season until Kaczur went down. Then Vollmer took over. Not sure where you got that Vollmer played RG..

That is different than you saying that Vollmer started the season at RG. The fact is that Vollmer did NOT start the season at RG but saw playing time on a rotational basis with both Light and Kaczur until Injuries started hampering Light and Kaczur. Then Vollmer filled in for them.

You've earned the :bricks: award.

Davis would be my first choice followed by Seubert. If Manuwai is in shape, which he wasn't last year, I'll take him.

we do need another G. Ppl said put Light their I agree w/ that, but who is our back up LT? Did Minaeri Play? I missed a lot of the game. I didn't hear his name as I jumped 10 seconds frequently on "Pre-season" live this morning. Did I miss his name as I fast forwarded to get to the snap?

Hate to say it because i have no problem with you as a poster but i think the videos in your posts are causing my computer to slow way down. Every time I hit one of your posts the pinwheel starts spinning and it takes forever to keep going.

I've never seen anything from Light suggesting he wouldn't play anywhere else on the OL, and if he said it then it is out their to be cited. Whether Solder is ready for LT is certainly questionable but overall I think most would agree the best set-up for the next couple of years is Light to RG and Solder at LT. RG almost got Brady killed the other night.

Firefox has a flash blocking addon, as well.
