MNF:Jets at Houston...

I was wishing for injuries last night, **** the jests and their fans. If you think that's wrong, too bad.

The biggest problem the Jets are going to have this year is applying a pass rush without blitzing every play. I think this is where we have really improved this year, and where the jets took a hit. The Jets lose Ellis, Taylor, Pryce.. they are relying on guys like Westerman and Wilkerson and zeroing in on them last night I was not impressed especially with Wilkerson. If the Jets cant pressure the QB their defense is not very good as evidenced by the 45-3 troucing we put on them.

I thought just the opposite, Wilkerson looked raw but with potential and Ellis looked like he wasn't getting any penetration against subs. He also had a pretty dumb play jumping on the pile late that he should have gotten flagged for.

I couldn't believe he got away with that! That was a good 5 seconds after the whistle. Is he deaf to go along with dumb?

Also, let's not forget that Houston was historically bad against the pass last year and didn't have Joseph suited up. Their best defensive player looks like he is having a hard time adjusting to LB (and I can't believe they are even trying it), they were missing their 2 best offensive players, and played the pretty much the whole game with their 4th string RB.

On top of that Schaub missed 3 wide open receivers.

But yeah, besides that the Jets looked awesome.

It was one pre-season game.:rolleyes:The jets will be a tough team.I just hope they can get this team and win the division again and make a run!!

Lord knows I hate 'em, but the Jets are going to be a good team this year. I don't think they'll come in first in the AFCE, but they should make the playoffs and be a very tough out.

The Jets are unraveling. They had an opportunity while BB was rebuilding a Super bowl club grown old. But that time has past.

Despite the Jets feelings that you can build a team with good imports and while trading away your draft picks and adding one or two people per year, a team wears out doing that. On top of that you can't miss with your draft picks but Vlad Gholston-Wilkerson make the situation even worse.

Everyone forgets that last season was an atypical season for them where they got all the breaks. Did they not pull out 5 games in the last seconds that were lost? Without the few injuries and those improbable breaks their record might well have been 8-8.

This year the Jets club is weaker, virtually everywhere. The WR corps is one guy and a couple of prayers; the RBs are one solid guy, an old man, and a never was. The Offensive line is depth less, and only has four qualified starters, with the loss of Woody and Turner. However you need five at least. Their CBs are fantastic; but who are the Safeties?

Constant blitzing works only as long as the blitzes are unanticipated. But the OCs in the League have been cataloging them all, and they are losing their effectiveness.

If things break right for the Dolphins, I could see them catching the Jets and maybe passing them at around 8-8.

BB and company will wave from the distant vantage of 13-3 or better.

They have one guy that takes the field away.Revis is probably the best corner in the league.Rexie is taking a chance with the rookies on the DL.:rolleyes:I still think they have a very good defense. Its about executing against these guys.

Agreed. The Green Beans' window of opportunity was last season and they failed to capitalize. Their depth is paper thin. They can't afford ANY injuries to ANY starters this season if they hope to make a run.

I was expecting a throw a yard or two over the LoS, not 10!

I know! I think he got the markers confused but still, if you ran 15 strides you really should notice something is awry... ;)

Wow the Jets did look like crap last night but one preseason game does not mean anything. You guys keep passing your judgement from week one of the preseason. The Jets will be fine, this is the time of year to work out the kinks. Now if they come out and play like that come week one of the season then I will be worried. Have a great day :rocker:

Could have the strides of a midget...
