If Vereen looks as good as ridley, where is the space on this roster for morris and/or gasp, faulk?!

In no easy am I saying that after one preseason game ridley should take over their duties but I'd rather keep the young guys if it's close. The young guys won't make it through to the ps.

Not to be facetious, but short of being arrested for a felony, there's no way any of the Pats' first five draft picks are getting cut.

Ridley and Vereen are absolute locks. Nobody should even entertain the idea of cutting a second or third round rookie.

Were there any injuries tonight?

im thinking Morris gets cut and one of the two rookies is on the practice squad. Cutting Faulk would be shocking, but....

Obviously nobody should put much of any weight into any week one pre-season game, but even with that caveat it does appear right now that there is a good chance that a few Pats players that are not going to make the team are likely candidates to be picked up by another team within 48 hours of those final roster cuts.

They'll be lookin' at our cuts like Rosie O'Donnell scarfing down a dog bone.:rocker:

Although it seems like Morris will be odd man out. It would be a tough cut considering the special teams tonight. They've got their work cut out.

Vareen or Ridley will not go the practice squad they would have to clear waivers and they would be claimed by another team.

Yeah not sure what I was thinking there... you are absolutely right.

I'm just gonna have a hard time seeing Faulk go...

I mean they can't possibly keep Faulk and BJGE, Woody, Vereen, Ridley with all the DL and WR's with potential upsides to them can they?

Preseason special teams don't tell you much. They suceed or fail as a unit and you have guys out there who will be selling insurance in a month. You canhave 9 or 10 guys do their job and still give up a 30 yard KR.

Waiving a rookie taken before round 5 would shock me much more than Faulk being cut.

Aside from Butler, can you think of a single Patriot who played poorly? I'm not sure who you have in mind ?

Lee Smith and the CBs who aren't named Bodden didn't wow me. Neither did Tarpinian, who I had beating out White for the ST/LB spot until tonight.

Morris makes the team...over Faulk if u ask me.
I think Vereen will go on PUP and then maybe IR (depending on if we trade one of our RBs or injury one of them gets hurt).
I don't see BJGE being on this team after 2011.

Vereen can't go on PUP. He practiced already.

Too early to make guesses on who gets cut or who makes the team.

One thing for sure that I liked was how our DLs were aggressive and always looked into penetrating the backfield instead of engaging, reading and then reacting to plays. The Jags got us a few times with quick traps but I like how overall we stayed aggressive on D.

NE can't waive anyone. There's 31 teams salivating on the other end. Even if they don't want the player they'll do it out of spite so we can't retain him.
