Randy Moss to retire

First off Randy thanks for the memories.

Now some analysis. My opinion is he wants to play he just will not play for the money he is being offered so he chose to retire.

Which then leads you to one road is there anywhere he might play where money isnt a factor and the answer to that could only be one place. Right now BB feels he is good at the position but one has to wonder what if things change?

Hopefully things never get there but I definitely would like to know what Moss would do if BB called him in the middle of the season?

Damn... i was always secretly hoping that Bill would bring him back this year.

I don't think the game will ever see anything quite like Brady to Moss ever again....

Wait until 2012, you'll see Brady to Fitzgerald:D

You are probably true but thats not going to stop me from saying it will happen again this year with Chad :D.

Thats crazy and totally unexpected. I wore his jersey number all through high school because I looked up to him so much.

Good luck Randy, see you in Canton.

I still think that Randy was dealing with injuries that we didn't know about. He hurt both his back (and also shoulder, I think?) in '09, and it was clear in 2010 that he was a shell of his former self. Hell of a player, and it's a shame that he wasn't able to retire here, but best of luck to him moving forward!

Gotta figure he'll still be in Belichick's Rolodex, in case of injuries to the current crew.

Interesting info from Cris Carter...

Chad Ochocinco got the 3 year deal that Randy Moss wanted, so it sounds like Randy might had been a bit insulted by being offered only 1 year.

The Jets offered him a 1 year deal, but they also offered a 1 year deal to Plaxico (which he promptly accepted).

The list was a short one, as opposed to last years bout with TEN.

Very interesting, and not surprised at all. For all that some people say that he could never come back to the Pats' locker room, I don't buy. For the right deal, I figured that he would be welcome to at least come to camp and try to earn a spot. Looks like that wasn't the route he wanted to take, though.

I hope he doesn't hang em up just yet!

But if he does...then awesome career!
Top 5 WR ever, and one of the most dominant players in his prime!
I don't think he'll get in the HOF on the first ballot, but he should be!
So many awesome catches over the years from the back of the endzone tip-toe catch in double coverage in Dallas to the one handed grab against Revis last year...

Goodluck Randy in your next stage in life!
Thanks for the memories!

Time for him to enjoy himself on the beach somewhere. Then again, Moss doesn't grow in the sun, so perhaps a cool, wet place would be his preference. :) Ouch, that was bad.

Chris Carter saying on ESPN that Pats wanted to sign Randy Moss to a 1-yr deal. Take it for what it's worth....
Exactly like I said in another thread. I suggested the Pats would try to get him back for 1 yr because he still has something left and could be a contributor in this offense and this "report" confirms this. I guess Randy just didn't want to play 1 and done ball. I have an inkling that he might change his mind soon though and accept this "1 yr deal" but if not then best of luck and wishes to him. :rocker: on Randy.

Best wishes to Randy Moss and a sincere Thank You for everything you did here for New England (well except the press conferences at the end......I was half hoping Moss would come back to the Pats again this year..but guess its not to be. Reportedly he only wanted to play for the Pats....and the F'ing Jests!....how could u randy?!

We'll see Randy in Canton in 5 yrs 1st ballot lock.

Thanks for the years here, wish he had gotten a ring.

Shame it all ended the way it did, he was in a place where he could have contributed for another couple of years. Instead the drive for that extra dollar drove him into early retirement.

Thanks for the memories, shame he didn't get that perfect season ring

Like the rest of you, I could see him back mid/late-season in an injury emergency. Perhaps not used much except in 3+ WR sets, where it doesn't matter that there's little mystery as to what route he'll run.

But that will only happen if multiple things go wrong with our current set of receivers, so I hope we never see him play for the Pats again.

Good luck w/ the rest of his life. He has to find peace somehow, for starters.

What a long strange trip it was. His final career numbers make him an HOF lock, but I can't shake the feeling that he left a lot on the table. IMO he should have left most NFL receiving records in the dust by now.

I wish him nothing but the best of luck with his post-football life.

I know this isn't how it ended, but I prefer to keep this as my last memory of Randy as a Patriot.
