Pats lose way on Ty | Ron Borgers | Boston Herald

The “Patriot Way” went wayward last week.

Nothing was more symbolic of the shift in Foxboro from outliers to outlaws than the firing of Ty Warren less than 24 hours after trading for troubled Albert Haynesworth. Add that to the drafting of Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett, who was off many teams’ boards due to behavioral issues, and the trade for decidedly unPatriotlike Chad Ochocinco, and some wondered what was going on down there.

i disagree with the wayward part

this is what the pats do, make trades

this is like textbook belichik

Re: The “Patriot Way” went wayward last week

If you yell at your boss, you're likely to get fired before long.

This is less fair in football than in most lines of work, because bosses do a lot of yelling at you. But it is what it is.

And the moral is?

I know you're new, but please read the sticky note on fair use and copyright. The moderators, I'm sure, will get to this, but as a long-time member I don't want to see Ian get in trouble with the Herald.

Borg-ass fails to note that "The Patriot Way" is not what the players are before coming to Foxboro, it's what Belichick imposes upon them after they arrive.

Re: The “Patriot Way” went wayward last week

What a little prick. God, it's really not even funny how much Borges hates Belichick.

Re: The “Patriot Way” went wayward last week

In order to enhance the "Borges Biased Pro Player Experience", readers must insert teary-eyed background violin music during reading and allow a subliminal projection of Ron giving the middle finger to a Belichick photogragh....let the "Experience" be in Dolby 3D

Re: The “Patriot Way” went wayward last week

Wow, Borges goes against something Belichick did.

Re: The “Patriot Way” went wayward last week

Actually last year i felt like we needed a big FA signing. Just players who are nasty,****y,arrogant or whatever. Somebody that would bring some swagger and be a tone setter.

Ocho certainly doesn't lack confidence and if Fat Albert returns to form he can be a nasty son of a *****.

Re: The “Patriot Way” went wayward last week

He says Warren made a smart move to going back to school. Really? He could have finished school before turning pro if it meant so much to him. He could have obtained his degree after his career.
What he did last year was just wrong on so many levels I don't want to go into it again. I know people disagree with me on what Warren did, but he was not paid to finish his education. You can't eat your cake and have it at the same time. He is a good guy so reproofing him is a bit hard for me

Mazz spent a day on this same talking point, apparently he doesnt understand it either. I think Mazz says stuff just to garner a reaction, Bogus does it because he hates BB.

Re: The “Patriot Way” went wayward last week

Borges, Felger, D & C make a living off being Patriot contrarians..

Re: The “Patriot Way” went wayward last week

The patriot way hasn't worked for the past 7 years. Bout time they try something new.

Re: The “Patriot Way” went wayward last week

Welker went out of line a bit last year, and he sat in that first series against the Jets. AD threw in the towel midseason a few back and he stopped dressing for games promptly. Moss had a questionable presser, and he was traded by Wednesday of the following week.

Until Mayo or Welker or star player X gets a DUI on a Thursday and starts on Sunday, I'd maintain "the patriot's way" is well intact.

you're not trying anything new

the pats are doing what they've been doing

making low risk trades for guys they might be able to turn around

textbook belichik......

the only 'new' thing, is going to a 4-3

i have to laugh when people say the pats are doing alot in free agency though...because they aren't, these were trades lol

people are getting confused about that more than ever due to the lockout bunching it all together

You guys may be missing the big picture here.....

....this team HATES THEIR COACH!!!!!!!

:bricks:

Part of the Patriot way is also moving on from guys whose production doesn't equate to value contractually... There are lots of facets to the Patriots Way. There are lots of things Bill won't tolerate. And there are just as many he will. The media has never gotten it's collective peanut sized brains wrapped around that. You can be a good guy and make mistakes. So long as you don't make 'em here. Then you are gone if he feels it's a mistake that warrants that.

Re: The “Patriot Way” went wayward last week

What a little prick. God, it's really not even funny how much Borges hates Belichick.

And he seems to have no compunction about showing it every chance he gets, even when he is called on it.

Who is this guy?
